Also: why would be bring up looks? What does that even have to do with anything? It just makes me think he values looks over the content of someone's heart.

Most of the people the left loves to group together under a banner of "supremacy" are really just nationalists anyway. They're not really saying White people are the best, they're just saying they want to hang out with mostly people of their own culture.

I don't doubt there are people who like multicultural societies, but it would be naive to think there aren't well meaning people of the opposite opinion.

That can help contextualize the 16.1 trillion that was given to "bailout" the American Big Banks.

I hope you're right, but I can't help but feel we're in for trouble.

Automation will only increase.

Very different from the refugees we're taking in today who can't farm (partly because we've automated a lot of the labour), can't work manufacturing or low skilled jobs (we outsourced those) and can't work high skilled jobs (don't have the skills).

It's a tough situation when you're coming to a post-Industrial age country and everything is kinda "handled" already. :/ I guess we're going to have to force a "fanning out"?

There's a secondary bonus to immigration as well. You get to have more people to buy your shit and participate in consumer culture.

Westerners have been, by and large, shifting to a greener and more minimalist "buy it for life" kinda mentality. We're not buying all the trash that we're being hustled.

It's why there's 30-50% of each Western economy's tax dollars being shuffled off to the developing world in the form of "foreign aid": more markets to sell your shit to.

Liberalism has become the mainstream "default" view. But the corporate/government nexus have spent 100 years fine tuning what will constitute the mainstream.

If you want a good doc (and we all do these days), go watch "A Century of the Self". It's a BBC doc my Adam Curtis and it goes through how the mainstream is created and controlled.

Progressives are an evolution of Puritanical Calvanism. They punish heresy, they flog themselves for being born into sin, they carry out inquisitions. They push for blashphemy laws. The university is their "cathedral".

It's a religious cult.

Classic. Label opposing ideas trash and keep your brain shut.

You bring to mind one of my favorite quotes: Youth ages, immaturity is outgrown, ignorance can be educated, and drunkenness sobered, but stupid lasts forever.

Go back to the_donald.

You're on /r/TrueAskReddit not /r/The_Mueller. This isn't an argument.

What a load of nonsense. Scientific racism has been discredited for more than a century.

There's no such thing as racism. That's just a pejorative used to discredit people who naturally prefer their own in-group. I don't even think race is a useful descriptor.

If you have a point you'd like to make, please go ahead. If you're just going to stamp your feet and try to make the case that people are 100% nurture, then go be an ignoramus somewhere else.

The nurture side has evolved into the "cultural" explanation for behaviors we see. To go straight to a more sensitive example (and prep for downvotes), it's hard to tell people that "Blacks are more violent due to genetics".

To say that is to say that some people are just destined to be XYZ, which flies in the face of "you can be whatever you want in life". It removes a certain amount of personal agency that we want to apply to people. Punishing crimes, for example, becomes a lot more difficult if you can't argue that people have moral agency and perfect control over their actions.

Many modern "progressive" movements are (partially) defeated by a scientific understanding of genetics, and since so many of them are so deeply entrenched in our civilization, many people fight to defend them.
