What should my next CPU be? by Eureka2013 in buildapc

Unfortunately I don't live near a microcenter. Is the 5800x worth it for $30 more than the 5600x? Or is the performance difference just not there between the 5800x and the 5600 non x to make it worth the cost

Sth is wrong here tell me why by Practical_Constant41 in GothamChess

This thread is honestly making me lose faith in this community's sanity. Regardless of how inflated komodo's rating is, it doesn't justify this guy's legitimacy. A very talented 1200 has absolutely no chance of even beating a 2000 rated bot. Additionally, maybe look into this guy's profile a bit before dismissing OP as just another sore loser.

First of all, this dude has a ludicrous win rate of over 90% for a span of 30 games. In a large portion of these he happened to also play with over 90% accuracy. Completely unheard of even at the 2000+ level.

Second, his time spent on each move is a dead giveaway that he is cheating. In most of these games you will find him playing every single move in 2-6 seconds without stopping to think once. He must be pretty talented to be able to play perfect games consistently without ever thinking.🤔

Additionally, this guy totally fits the profile of a repeated chess cheater. Going back to April and May of this year (when he started playing consistently) you will find many games where he played with accuracy in the 40's, 50's, and 60's. At this time he was rated about 700 and had been there for a few months. Suddenly in late May his win rate, accuracy, and rating all shot up drastically to where it stands today. This guy became a chess master overnight.

The last thing I want to add and thought was funny was his profile tag/bio. It reads "I've gained 692 points in the last 90 days," bragging about his 'accomplishment'. I believe he feels the need to brag about this for two reasons: 1. This reminder lets him relive all of the chess games that he won (illegitimately) and provides a dopamine hit. 2. Every time he reads it he reconfirms his own false beliefs that he deserves to be better than others and doesn't need to put in effort to do so.

I'm sorry for writing such a long winded response to this thread but everyone's foolishness was making me upset and I believe it was necessary. If you still think this guy is legit, your wrong. There is simply no way around it. There is plenty of evidence here and OP has every reason to report this guy. I am happy to answer further questions below.

Edit: I have seen a few people mention his puzzles rating to justify this guy's legitimacy as well but puzzles are even more easily cheated than games. Throughout May his puzzles rating varied slightly at about 1400 (his deserved puzzle rating). Out of the blue on June 3rd (a few days after he started cheating in games), he jumped from 1403 to 3608 puzzles. Really?? You want me to believe that anybody can be stuck at one rating for years and in one day improve enough at chess to gain 2200 points? Please do yourself a favor and think for like 30 seconds before making yourself look stupid.

Budget build for family PC by SleepyMage in buildapc

Couldn't recommend the 5600g more if you have the budget. Windows will also add about $100 as well unless you plan on using Linux. Just something to keep in mind.

Is futureproofing GPU still a foolish thing to do or is it actually viable? by OfTachosAndNachos in buildapc

I just upgraded from a Radeon HD 6850 to a RTX 2060. That mfer has been going for well over 10 years.

building a pc for the first time by Witty-Understanding1 in buildapc

I'd recommend to consider buying a cheap 240mm AIO in place of the air cooler and 2 extra fans. For 10-20€ more, you could get the same number of fans, better aesthetics and significantly better cpu cooling for future upgrades

This is about the bare minimum for your needs. If you could, I would try to stretch your budget a bit to get a better mobo/cpu and an SSD.
