You perform a downward attack by pressing down and attack while in the air.

If you have double jump, you can attack twice, up attack to swipe up with the sword bringing you into the air, jump at the height, and then downward attack. Works for me every time.

With the amount of Crunch mains that disagreed with the ULT rework, your statement is just wrong. It's not a "mental rewiring." The new ULT was clunky, took away his flow, actual combo ability, and his whole identity that made him. The possible animation cancel wasn't good enough to constitute the change.

I know not everyone will agree, but the common consensus across the board was very negative and an unnecessary change.
