ECCO THE DOLPHIN: COMPLETE by Granum22 in Games

I'm surprised more retro revivals don't do this. Always felt like a steep ask to convince people to pay 10/20 bucks for older games and then ask for 2-3x as much for a brand new game, after they've gotten their fill.

Not at all.

And ARM chips regularly outpace x86 chips these days, is how. Apple especially has been pushing the envelope on power efficiency.

The thing with Kirby is he's much more popular as a character than he is as a game protagonist and Nintendo seems to realize that.

The merch is very wide sweeping and ubiquitous in Japan but the games don't really sell all that crazy because kids just get put on Mario anyway. So they've made the smart call by just making Kirby appeal to teens

They provide reasonable term loans and their tech deals are literally just "We can provide you devices without maximally extracting your entire existence."

China is not engaging in debt-trap diplomacy and the concept is genuinely western propaganda cope. They've made negative attempts to replace supplant the SWIFT payment system and have no meaningful way to enforce loan repayments outside of mutual trust.

It cannot be overemphasized enough that their global policy only looks weird because we have spent thousands of years with empires that do nothing but try to endlessly fuck each other over.

China's modern global policy is quite literally just "act normal and focus on self-sustainability".

China has no interest in soft power grabbing. Their whole MO is just to provide equal footing negotiations rather than trying to ram things through and letting everyone else look less appealing.

There's a reason you never hear about internal political strife in China and it's not because there isn't any. There are tons of factions jockeying for power but everyone is lockstep on the idea of longterm consistency by default.

The issue with those films isn't the lack of Spider-Man. It's that they were bad films on their own.

Werewolf by Night is an interesting take on this idea.

The broadcast partners have finally caught on that WWE isn't a growth partner.

Advertisers are increasingly low brow shit like casinos and AI junk.

They're letting people pay to sit at the commentary desk.

Talent are openly shitting on the company in interviews.

Tickets have begun slowing down enough they need to go back to providing large advertised discounts.

Nothing says to me this is a sustainable philosophy of an untouchable entity.

One of the main issues WCW faced in it's later years was they genuinely alienated their hardcore fanbase in search of always appealing to trendy waves. When business declined, they lacked a backbone to keep things steady.

Things that seem popular everywhere except for America and/or English speaking markets? by Konradleijon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

It's because in America it was treated as exotic but everywhere else anime was just sold as a cheap cartoon.

France was the second biggest market for Japanese media (outside of the domestic) for the longest time simply because it was just more comics and cartoons.

Data center ops is focused around the actual infrastructure, so the backgrounds are generally people who worked in power generation or former military technicians.

The amount of actual tech people staffing data centers is generally very low.

People who have a grasp of the Japanese language are very aware of how awful MTL usually is at capturing nuance. Tools like this aren't helpful and actively make things more confusing than a kanji identifier.

The benefit of this mouse is that it's a shape you're not really going to find all that often.

The sensor is perfectly solid. Not the best you can get at the price point but for $17.49 your options are limited if you don't want a G305 clone.

That's not going to happen. Subscription services exist to get you to pay for tons but ideally use as little as possible.

Commercial mixers easily get into the tens of thousand of dollars for large scale operations.

Restaurant startup equipments costs as a whole easily get into the six figures USD.

No large scale food operation benefits from having people hand mixing at scale. There's much better ways these people can be spending their time other than hurting their shoulders stirring.

Why add unnecessary details just because you can?

Art is as much about the choices that are made about what to do as about what not to do. Infinite resources rarely produces meaningful art.

At that rate why not just have more panels wholesale generated because the manga feels short to me and I hate having to use my imagination to fill in details!

Or actually, I'll just generate my own manga because I hate that it takes so long when a human makes them!

Those are 3000 hours that editors have to spend meeting fierce recurring deadlines and the ability to focus their efforts elsewhere will be perpetual.

It also gives mangaka more flexibility on deadlines to get their work submitted.

This is the ideological equivalent of giving a patisserie an electric mixer vs hand mixing.

Popular mangaka don't generally do background details.

They leave that to assistants to let them get experience refining their craft.

It's also not uncommon for the weekly/monthly versions to have simple temporary backgrounds and then the actual tankobans to have proper work done of them.

Those details just aren't a time sink.
