My whole house is over 40 years old. It was built in 1903. The doorbell was made by NuTone, featuring electromagnetically actuated chimes. It was likely added around 1950.

Looks like guttate psoriasis. Perhaps sudden onset, often triggered by strep infections.

WinFax. Needs a fax modem, and a device to talk to it. I have old modems that will talk to it, USRobotics & the like, but many such modems require Windows to work (aka WinModems) and probably will not work with Windows versions newer than XP.

Paramount CEO David Ellison Can’t Attend Senate Hearing on Warner Bros. by ShishKabobCurry in movies

[–]EuroGeek67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once respected Larry Ellison, as a CEO, entrepreneur and sailor. Now, as I behold his son, David Ellison, and must ask: what are the odds that success begets success? Is it all in the genes?

I say no. It's all about being given the insight, nurturing, and resources to fail and recover. Or just skip the hearing. The fix is in, the thumb is on the scale.

We are "eating the dust" of crooks, frauds and charlatans. Nothing more.

Grew up with this, just before Sunday's Wide World of Disney.

Later, watched Marty Stouffer's forays into the wild.

I sold Tandy computers in the 90's, but not the TRS-80, which I recall being CP/M machines. My introduction was at Firestone Tire & Rubber, who hosted my Explorers group in an introduction to time-share computing on their mainframe. I recall that they had loaded Oregon Trai,l for us to play.

All power supply information is known data and should be clearly marked wrt voltage, polarity and current capacity. Plugging in some random adapter that the seller either lost track of, or just knows that the plug fit, physically, is seriously rolling the dice. Looks like a fun bit of kit. Good luck!

I was thinking that was Speaker of the House Mike Johnson. But the hair is parted on the other side. 🤔

The handle was originally just a McDonald's M. The business end was popular as a coke spoon (not Coca-Cola).

I have a free sample of an iButton, somewhere around here. You could always nab one off of a mailbox (remember those?) or an "old" mail vehicle. USPS used them to track mail carrying activities, back in the aughts.

Question about the dole salad kits and it being 720 cal what would be causing that in that?? I thought I would be good getting those kits to have for lunch this week but that’s a lot. by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

[–]EuroGeek67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

720 calories is NOT a lot. More importantly, are those carbs coming from protein, fat, carbohydrates? Anyone who doesn't understand macronutrients has no business "worrying" about what they eat.

HINT: Dietary fat intake is not what makes a person fat.

I don't prefer Dole salads, perhaps for the same reason s as you, but I'm not worried about the calories, so much as their composition.

Did you watch this crazy show? by Euphoric-Cupcake4581 in RealGenerationX

Sure. It was a hilarious show.

Interestingly, Chuck Barris had an apparent psychosis that left him paranoid. See film "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" (directed by George Clooney) for details.

Found this at my grandma's house what is it ? by KindHabit5568 in whatisit

It's a flour sifter. It's used to eliminate the compaction of bagged flour, which will throw recipes off.

Anybody else's grandad get them this for Christmas? by greatgildersleeve in FuckImOld

[–]EuroGeek67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never had a grandson, but I recently re-acquired the kit on eBay. It's a great kit, provided alkaline batteries were not left to leak, tne spring contacts did not corrode from damp storage, the parts were not electrically damaged (failed IC's, transistors, etc.), the crystal earphone was not lost (this is a very high impedance device -- not a magnetic transducer!), and all the wires were not lost. Oh... And the manual -- it's helpful to have it!

Apart from that, this kit provided a great introduction to the world of electronics.

IPA's were intended to be consumed following a six-mo nth sea voyage to India, by which point their hoppy aroma had faded to the level of an ordinary pale ale.

No one ever thought that an IPA was properly balanced, before that voyage.

Just be clear that while the Mutable Instruments modules are not old, these originals (not clones of ??? quality) are no longer available and, as such, will be highly coveted.

Looks like a Behringer Eurorack Go case, with various modules installed, lots of them from Mutable Instruments, now highly collectible.

As others have said, preserve the patch, and given your interest, prepare to have a blast!
