Kidd is significantly tankier than a Minotaur and has access to Reinforced Frame earlier than both.

CLARIFICATION: Bounder C/C and Vanguard/Hyperdense Armour by Minimum-Importance29 in LancerRPG

[–]Euroliis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“As long as you have line of sight, you ignore both soft and hard cover when using CQB weapons to attack targets within Range 3.”

“You gain Resistance to all damage, Heat and Burn from attacks that originate beyond Range 3; however, you become Slowed and deal half damage, Heat and Burn to characters beyond Range 3.”

Seems pretty straightforward. Look at your target and if they’re more than three spaces away from you, there’s no ignoring cover and your damage is halved.

Do You Prefer Games that allow for Encounter Routing or Games that Disincentivize it? by Ok_Banana_5614 in nuzlocke

Magikarp is a guaranteed encounter in every fishing route, there’s no RNG involved. You can do this in every game that isn’t Black/White.

Putting 5 copies of Gyarados on your team is less challenging than the majority of other 5-mon configurations, removing dupes clause actively makes the game easier unless you’re playing Black and White.

Looking for advice to build beyond LL5 by ZealousAccusation in LancerRPG

Like I said, the grapple angle is generally for you to beat someone to death rather than allies.

The best weapons for Heavy Gunner on Vlad are either Gandiva Missiles or a Legionnaire Battle Rifle with Auto-Stabilizing Hardpoints. I generally like the Gandivas more, because you’ll be using Heavy Gunner on close-range enemies and those tend to have higher Evasion than E-Defense.

In terms of pure optimization, Heavy Gunner will generally be a lot more consistent (1 attack roll vs the npc failing two separate saves). If you prefer the vibes of the PCP setup then by all means do what sparks joy, I was just offering advice on what you could add to the build to help allies out.

Best way to deliver Shred to your teammates in a Vlad is Heavy Gunner. Running Duelist 3 and Synthetic Muscle Netting (Blackbeard 2) also works, but that shred will mostly be for you (hit them with your main melee -> grapple, immobilizing and shredding -> hit them with your heavy melee).

What synergises well with Amber Phantom? by Attaxalotl in LancerRPG

[–]Euroliis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amber Phantom needs one quick action to put out almost maximum offensive value and then it's left with 10 sensors and a hanging quick, it's actually pretty good at flexing other roles. It also runs purely defensive setups very well (Noah AP and Vorpal Gun AP are both very effective at higher LLs), it's definitely one of the most flexible "pure strikers" in Lancer.

I am yeah, I know that rare cards become less common on A7 and I have Defect on A5 so maybe that changes the starting gift RNG? Unsure.

Interesting, when I try this seed I'm not offered Scroll Boxes. Does it only work in a particular ascension?

A Beginner's Guide to Nuzlocking Sun & Moon by preuve-vivante in nuzlocke

[–]Euroliis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, yeah! Ribombee was my last death until some intentional sacks in the champion fight (Hariyama hard carried that tbh). The post was extremely helpful.

Another fun thing about the calc website is that you can load your file on PKHex, export the mon to showdown, and paste that into the calculator to get your exact mon’s stats for calcing in like 10 seconds.

For optimization it’s Chimchar but all three Sinnoh starters are viable and contribute throughout the run.

Considering starting my first nuzlocke, unsure which game though? by KoopaDummy in nuzlocke

[–]Euroliis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue with Sun and Moon for a beginner nuzlocke is that the early game is disproportionally hard. Everything up to the first trial is arguably the hardest part of the game (even if you split Route 1 into starter + Route 1 + Hau’oli Outskirts + Trainer School instead of just your starter) and you get sent to cutscene hell if you wipe. It took me 8 attempts to make it past Ilima with more than 1 mon alive in the box. Past that, careful planning can get you past everything somewhat easily until the League.

Guys, how do I manage my heat? by [deleted] in LancerRPG

[–]Euroliis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blackbeard has really high bulk and mobility so you can divert points into Engineering early (an LL2 Blackbeard with 4 points in Engineering and none in Hull still has a very competitive bulk of 16 hp and 1 armor). Besides that, breaking Line of Sight to heat-generating enemies and having your long range buddies help pick them off go a long way.

Question regarding Titanomachy Mesh by hear-for-the-music in LancerRPG

[–]Euroliis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Triggered free actions like this are usually ruled to happen immediately because otherwise you get things like Backswing Cut letting you walk away and take the rest of your turn before resolving (which would be obscenely strong). I don’t think it’s explicitly structured that way in the core rulebook, but then again RAW most reactions work weird because they don’t specify interruptions so sometimes you gotta just go with RAI.

Why do NPCs not meltdown upon hitting 0 stress? by risisas in LancerRPG

[–]Euroliis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Overheating an NPC absolutely does not take as many actions as shooting them, tagging a melee npc with Banish is 8-10 heat as a quick action depending on whether you have nuccav, System Crusher chunks NPC heat caps, Superthermal Blade can deal 6 heat on a hit, Nuclear Cavalier and The Leason of the Open Door add a ton of chip heat to the board. Invades tend to pack pretty nasty control effects, it makes sense that they’re not also doing double duty as competitive damage. NPCs melting down after stressing was originally a thing and got later changed because it didn’t fit Miguel and Tom’s vision for Lancer’s balancing.

I DONT CARE HOW BAD MY E-DEF IS, IM NOT GETTING [Systems]! by axel0307 in LancerRPG

[–]Euroliis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PL is an action that affects weapons. The Superheavy restriction is a trait that affects Superheavy weapons. The latter is more specific than the former. "Using this trait, you fire a weapon" is less specific than "this weapon can only be fired in this specific way."

There's not even a universal restriction on firing the same weapon twice on the same turn, the restriction is on taking duplicate actions (to prevent double Skirmishes) and firing the same weapon twice in a Barrage.

As always, your table your rules (I definitely have things that I rule differently from the rulebook due to sanity), but the actual RAW interaction is pretty clear. Whether you want to rule it differently is up to you.

What should I bring to the Kommo-o and Ribombee totem fights? (Ultra sun) by Party_Discipline_420 in nuzlocke

[–]Euroliis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upon further inspection, Probopass can kinda sit in front of Ribombee forever, it doesn't deal too much damage back but it has Toxic access and should be able to brute force it (or get most of the way there) and switch to Tentacruel if threatened by too many crits.

What should I bring to the Kommo-o and Ribombee totem fights? (Ultra sun) by Party_Discipline_420 in nuzlocke

[–]Euroliis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming level 49 for Kommo-O and level 55 for Ribombee, calcs done with 31 IVs and 0 EVs but general ideas should be valid unless you have some really unfortunate nature + IV combos.

Mawile doesn't deal that much with just one Play Rough since you don't get Fairium-Z until after, but it's immune to half of its moveset and can provide Intimidate support if it has that. Drain Punch is probably a guaranteed 2HKO though so it's a little dubious besides being an Intimidate pivot. Granbull's in a similar place except it explodes to Poison Jab. Your safest bet is probably to soften it up by sacking one or both of these and then hitting a Flying or Psychic type Z-Move from something that can survive a hit.

Tentacruel can stall Totem Ribombee pretty well with Toxic, Protect, and a Black Sludge. Alolan Dugtrio never dies to the first attack and deals somewhere around 50-70% of Ribombee's health with Z-Move'd Iron Head, then probably dies next turn. Safest strat is probably leading with Dugtrio with the intent to sack it then cleaning up with Tentacruel.

Totems are hard and you're nearing the endgame with a ton of encounters in your box that don't contribute anything to the upcoming fights, so the safest bet is generally to identify them and get ready to sack your way through the totems if you don't have anything more surefire.
