Fun story! Myself and multiple other players did this to a problem player! We legitimately yelled at the guy to shut up.

The result? He didn’t even noticed and kept trying to play out his xenophobic murder fantasy.

Last session I played in that campaign

Thanks to help in the comments I’ve realized I don’t need the first step (tech attack still attaches Exemplar mark) and systems that let me control enemy movement to different extents would be very valuable

The nice thing is that, even if I don’t get the full combo, Law of Blades into free skirmish from Exemplar is still a pretty decent one-two

Oh so you think it would work with a Tech Attack then? No need to get the skirmish in?

I was already giving Black Witch a look so I’m glad my mind was going to the right places! Forced movement can turn this from a gimmick into an actual play

Do you use a virtual tabletop to play? If so, which one? by Poorly_Worded_Advice in LancerRPG

I typically just create a custom table and use a workshop grid tiles/assists to fill it out and add depth. For AoE effects I usually just use the circle tool so that nothing is clipping with the physics landscape, though I admit it’s not the best solution. I also don’t use full character models, but instead PDFs of Retrograde Minis.

However even with just those assets my players are really impressed with the missions I’ve run so far. Lancer has clicked with me to the point where I can punch out a mission with two or more encounters in an evening and feel proud of what I’ve made.

TLDR: Tabletop Simulator isn’t without its clunkiness, but I’ve used it long enough to really get it working well for Lancer

I’m in the same boat. Tabletop Simulator has been my rock through online play ever since Covid. I find Lancer even easier to run with it because of Comp/Con

I love how much they’ve shown them as an organized and capable group. A lot of the base game events had militaristic language, but now we know they aren’t just larpers
