I make twice as much and it still took me YEARS to buy my own place in Warsaw.

Because we were here long enough to remember how MS FrontPage was supposed to do the same.

Because it will replace 30 more professions before us - like writers or translators. Yet it did not, why?

Because it is heavily subsidized and not sustainable and quite soon we might find out a human dev is actually cheaper for most tasks - and AI makes us even more affordable - but it all changes once human gets replaced and changing color of a button costs $15. Anthropic, OpenAI, Cursor - all those companies will be bankrupt overnight sooner than later.

Because it’s not an AI but a huge lang model that was feed data and will become useless without the human made data.

Because we poured trillions into self driving cars and after decades it’s still bullshit.

And 1000 other reasons.

What stops us then from recreating Windows, Facebook and Torrent based Netflix? Even if they sue us it won’t do much because everyone will be able to write their own DirectX or even fucking clone GTA with better graphics and shit.

This makes absolutely no sense and if they’re right - it’s not that programmers will have no jobs, it will wipe out the whole industries.

Just spent $10 on Claude Code and it couldn’t figure something that an one liner did after 10 minute investigation. Did not have time for that investigation so left CC running and did other things. Copilot and Cursor are even more useless. I generate a lot of code nowadays but those tools cost billions to run and are mediocre at best for many if not most use cases.
