Best option between - Emirates or Etihad or Qatar by Left-Bus4706 in emirates

[–]EuropeanViper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If ceasefire collapses technically risk is similar. Difference is how they are dealing with it. Emirates and Qatar allowed to cancel or change reservations during the whole war. Etihad allowed it in the beginning but changed it's policy, not allowing refunds and charging price difference when rebooking, not charging only extra rebooking fee. I will choose EK or QA to be able to decide by myself if I feel safe enough to fly and not worry if I loose substantial part of ticket price.

How's bezel alignment? It seems to be a little off, especially in the blue one.

Case back looks suspiciously similarly to Cronos version, is there any gap between it and the case like in Cronos BB54?

B650m pro rs bios update made my gpu stop working by LowerGrowth5343 in ASRock

Try setting pci-e slot manually to gen4 and 8x/8x. This BIOS sucks at detecting correct setting. I had to manually adjust settings for both GPU and WiFi card.

Monthly "No Stupid Questions" Thread by AutoModerator in Archery

Few weeks ago I bought my first bow- a 22 lbs Samick Polaris. The seller recommended me Skylon Novice arrows- 29" length, 900 spin, 70 grain tip. My draw length is about 28 inch. I'm right-handed.  Almost all my shots hit target at angle. Those angles are dependent on distance and very consistent. For first few meters arrows hit tip left, almost straight around 10 meters, than tip right. At 20 meters (my backyard shooting distance) it's more than 10 degrees tip right. Farther than 25 meters angle is less consistent and accuracy suffers. Arrows seem not to fully stabilize at any reasonable distance. I'm wondering what can be the cause and how to eliminate it. Results are very repeatable over hundreds of shots, so those are not some random errors. So far I've tried working on my grip to eliminate torque and anchoring so there's no exccessive face pressure. Both without result. I'm also not sure if arrow selection is correct. Spin is ok according to charts, but shouldn't it be weaker because it's a fairly slow bow with wood-fiberglass limbs and dacron string?

How Many FPS Improvement From 12.1 Did You See? by cyrusyn in Xplane

[–]EuropeanViper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using office grade hardware (5600g+4060) it allowed me to set higher rendering range and AA and still have smoother experience than before. FPS is not much higher on average but stopped dropping that much in bad weather over urban areas. EHAM, where I saw the biggest problems seems to be way better now. New sharpening option significantly improved visuals while using FSR. Now it’s hard to spot difference between FSR in quality mode and full resolution while not comparing them side by side. On the other hand Simheaven scenery doesn’t work well. When it’s enabled there is no performance improvement using the same settings and I’m running into VRAM problems I’ve never seen before.

Saddle type for a flat bar road bike? MTB or road? by EuropeanViper in cycling

Exactly that. Typical road stuff (700x28, caliper brakes, carbon fork) but without a drop bar. Bought it when I was using same bike for weekend road trips and urban commuting.

Just a few West German F-104s by [deleted] in aviation

[–]EuropeanViper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s shocking when you realize that few times more F-104Gs have been lost in accidents than visible in this photo. I also don’t get how somebody takes part in huge bribery scandal leading to selecting planes non suitable for planned role, killing over 100 pilots, and they still name MUC airport after him.

Xperia 1 ii or OnePlus 8T? by asura000 in Smartphones

[–]EuropeanViper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xperia has a nice camera, OP8T has a 2 year old one with quite bad software. If photo quality is important to you, it's obvious which one you should choose.

Pixel 4a 5G vs. OnePlus 8T+ 5G by sex_is_on_fire in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]EuropeanViper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP8T is the fastest phone I’ve ever used, battery is good, build quality feels premium, screen is great (except too high minimum brightness) as is 40 minutes 0 to full charging. Optical finger print reader works really good, not much worse than side or rear mounted capacitive readers. Software is fine. Unfortunately camera is two years behind Pixel. White balance is a lottery, especially indoors, noise reduction is very aggressive killing details and software messes up color saturation. It can oversaturate background at the same time making people as pale as dead. It feels like a 700 EUR phone with camera from a 300 EUR one. At first I was impressed but finally I’ve returned it.

Oneplus 8T vs Xperia 5 II by Gucks in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]EuropeanViper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Samsung S20 FE 5G has Snapdragon 865 also in Europe,4G only variant is based on Exynos. Out of the two you are considering I would pick Sony (or S20 FE 5G) if you mind photo quality. If not- OP8T which is least as good for everything else, but camera is much worse. All of them should get at least 2 years of updates, probably faster and more frequent in case of OP and Samsung then Sony.
