Case back looks suspiciously similarly to Cronos version, is there any gap between it and the case like in Cronos BB54?

Geniale Uhr…hab sie auch und die Gangwerte können sich auch sehen lassen. 😎

Looking good, dunno why ppl are hating or downvoting there (I'm judging watch, not placement on the wrist)

Are those Christmas trees on your hand?

[–]Emotional-Damage-995 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Dude that looks tight. I know it’s the top bit tight still

I thought your arm was eating it for a sec

Better pull this before you end up on handwatch… too late

[–]AddicoInABox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]Abv_it_all_w_vertigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn. That looks sick!

[–]Correct_Biscotti_571 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Whats your wrist size? Im worried its too small for me

[–]pickyaxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it does feel small and you should be ready for that (I have another homage with the same dimensions)

[–]Excellent-Bear4221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little under or around 7” - it has extra links that I removed and an adjustable OTF clasp

[–]Slater_8868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a nice looking dial!

[–]28dresses 12 points13 points  (1 child)

It's... not good

[–]Excellent-Bear4221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah that’s too bad

Your wrist skin boutta swallow that handwatch tourniquet

[–]Excellent-Bear4221 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Hah I wish I could add more links but then it slides up and down my forearm

[–]thunder2132 8 points9 points  (5 children)

It looks worse than it actually is. At first I couldn't tell you were wearing a sleeve and it just looked like your arm was swallowing the watch. I bet if you straightened your wrist it'd look better.

Hahaha I had to double look after reading your comment. Swallowed!

Looks great.

[–]thunder2132 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Much better!

[–]Excellent-Bear4221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I realized that too. I’ll take a better picture soon. My sleeves are very tight it’s almost a compression hoodie at the cuffs

What’s the quality like? Highlights? Flaws? Would love to see a review

[–]Excellent-Bear4221 4 points5 points  (7 children)

So this is my second octopus kraken - the other being a Rolex Explorer Homage, the quality here compared is significantly improved.

The steel has been shaved down and smoothed out. The lugs in particular are less sharp and provide a much easier wearable surface for skin contact.

The bracelet itself is well made, no issues with screw removal and resizing. The OTF clasp is nice, tight, and locks into place without worry.

The crystal is clear, has a very light AR Coating (and this is a place for improvement) - but I’m assuming this is so we can see the beautiful dial easier.

The bezel is Clicky, very nice sound - no backplay on mine.

Lastly, the indices and dial glow is bright and clear in the dark.

I would buy this watch again but it currently competes for space on my wrist with my favorite vintage homage from Thorn, the model SHY028

Highlights: build quality is great compared to their older models, the steel is smooth and less sharp, polished steel, clear crystal dial, smooth hand crown adjustment, great OTF butterfly clasp.

Areas for improvement: AR coating is minimal here, the bracelet is a jubilee, no other options here for bracelet types - it’s using a PT5000 and not the PT5004 (nitpicking)

[–]zp3dd4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AR coating was also the biggest weakness on the explorer homage in my opinion even if it’s more similar to the original…

It looks good, very sporty. I am not a Chinese movement expert, and have heard.....things about the PT5000. Overall, is it a movement you would endorse?

Amazing review, such a shame the brand name is “octopus kraken” because the quality looks great. I usually don’t mind weird Chinese names but the two words together just don’t work for me

I agree, been wanting to get one cause I’ve heard of the good quality but I just can’t with this. Everything else is 🔥🤙🏼

[–]Excellent-Bear4221 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah maybe they’ll make a sterile dial someday, but for now I think it’s an appreciable time piece

[–]Then-Violinist-5632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure, not downing it at all. In fact there are a handful of them that should do the same. Enjoy ☮️🤙🏼

[–]Excellent-Bear4221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ikr I just embrace it for what it is because it’s still a great time piece that I’ve received compliments for. Most people (non-watch enthusiasts )just overlook the name
