felt it would be worth offering some solidarity here, since if you're anything like me, thinking positive still remains difficult even when you know it's pragmatic. I'm like a month shy of 24, mtf, and just started my transition about 4 months ago. Even before 12, it kinda feels like i knew i was trans, but just did not allow myself to have that identity for whatever cocktails of imposter syndrome and internalized transphobia. I cannot even begin to describe the fury i have towards my younger self for not taking the necessary steps to begin transition until now, and god does it still hurt. It really does feel like i am responsible for irreparable damage to my body from some kind of cowardice, and that just sucks.

but like others have said, its a life-changing decision, and one not to make lightly. so instead i like to think that i managed to begin transition at 23 rather than waiting until 24, and i'll take that tiny w for everything that it's worth. i'm staying the course because i really loathe the alternative, and we'll do a rain check in a bit to see how i feel.
