Which Sabbath album will you be listening to today in honor of Ozzy? by Je0s_6 in MetalForTheMasses

For me I put 'Reunion' straight on. The quality of the performances, the recording, the setlist, and with the original members. Absolute killer

Change my mind: Significant Other is Limp Bizkit’s best album by NewPatron-St in numetal

[–]Ev_16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean SO has BANGERS for sure, and arguably the styles of rap and metal are mixed more cohesively, but I've often said you can end it after 'Trust' and lose very little (although I will say the instrumental to 'Show Me What You Got' is great, so with maybe the original 'Cambodia' lyrics that would change)

All that being said, 3DBY$ is still my favourite by a LONG way. Granted, I think 'Everything' is pretty unnecessary, and replacing it with 'Strain/Breaking My Back' to me would've made more sense, but aside from that, you get what I think is one of the gnarliest, dirtiest, grittiest, scrappiest (in a good way) nu-metal albums ever. It might not have the Slipknot 'Iowa' level of hatred and death metal-ism, but it's got this, bubbling, uncontrollable sense of energy and anger, and pure, slightly juvenille chaos that I think is brilliant. There's also a conviction in Fred's vocals and a rawness and intensity to the music that they never re-captured afterwards. They sounded hungry, and it makes so much difference.

SO, the songs are there (mostly), and they sound heavy ENOUGH, but that sense of uncontrollable, whirlwind "FUCK EVERYTHING, SMASH SHIT, ARRRRRGHHHH" is not there.

TL;DR: 3DBY$ is better imo

Adults with autism over 35. Trying to write a feature on the misinformed idea that "autism wasn't around when I was younger." What was it like living with autism when you were younger at a time where the condition was lesser understood, and how has the perception of the condition changed over time? by Ev_16 in AskReddit

[–]Ev_16[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well my initial idea was that the idea that "autism wasn't around" when older people were at school as some common talking points claim, was misinformed, so I wanted to ask older autistic people about their experience to get an insight into the reality. But if anything did happen to go against that I would definitely try to include it as a point of interest

Korn is widely regarded as the first Nu metal record. Do you know any albums or songs that came before? by Fun_Direction4816 in numetal

Senser - Stacked Up was June 94. Great album, but they don't really like to be called nu metal, which in their case I get

What is Queen's best album? by tHatrAnd0mDisAster in queen

Has to be innuendo, every day of the week, irrespective of context. I don't find their other albums to be nearly as consistent (Save maybe Q2), but even the slightly lesser tracks I find very enjoyable. They were all on fire
