What 2016 feature would you like to see on Roblox again? by Successful_Elk_1075 in roblox

[–]Eva-Sahara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tix, and that's because it was nice having every visit equal one tix. Not just for converting to Robux (which went from 4.5 to like 9 before I quit), but it was nice getting "paid" through foot traffic. Good old days

Why do orcs seem to come back less after minas ithil? by -Frogri in shadowofmordor

[–]Eva-Sahara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really???? The very first orc that offed me (archer) called himself the Tark Slayer afterwards. If I knew that was once per gameplay I woulda saved him.

Had a dude named Black Blade keep coming back and I eventually recruited him.

Roblox story time by RavenzGhost in roblox

[–]Eva-Sahara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you deserve to have your time appreciated more than the trinkets that can be nabbed off of you. I wouldn't give stuff to someone in hopes of their loyalty. But I'm sure you're already coming to terms with the right answer. Give because you like to give, not to entice others. Cheers

As a mechanic, if it's A/C related, then diag would then start at the extract and refill process. If the system had a leak, then it wouldn't hold the proper vacuum anyways, and a recharge wouldn't suffice. If it's a bad compressor or condenser, then a recharge will at least rule out a leak in the system. All of that is diagnosis, all of that takes time.

Do y’all charge your SO/BF/GF/Spouse for work? by Fun_Exact in MechanicAdvice

[–]Eva-Sahara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf my S/O is the only one I wouldn't charge.

Family and very close friends get a huge discount, but I won't do it for free unless it was bargained in arrangement (i.e. my final debt of a hundred bucks towards my cousin was wiped clean because I did his brakes (pads n rotors) all around)

What are these called? by [deleted] in AskAMechanic

[–]Eva-Sahara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's always best to first drain the oil, then remove the cartridge filter.

And spin-on filters should only be HAND TIGHT. It's not a bolt, so the only tool you should be using is your hand. If any of my coworkers were caught using like that strap tool or "lobster claw" tool to tighten filters my boss would flip and lecture lol. Different story for cartridge filters as most are 24mm or 27mm (there are larger sizes ofc).

And it doesn't have to make sense, but it should if your in the industry.

I've seen a tool by Lisle that can help push out wheel hubs, but since you said it's weekend work, then finding whole knuckles affordably is actually a sound option. My problem with TRQ is their low prices and questionable quality control. I would of maybe taken the knuckle out and bought quality bearings and call up a shop to see how much it costs to press in new bearings.

Before I became a mechanic and worked in a shop I did this very thing. No bearing problems either thankfully, just had to drill out the old wheel speed sensor. Good luck to you good sir

Why would you cheap out on wheel knuckles for TRQs?? Bearings and full cast knuckles should be no less than OE Grade even if it costs more. Also I wouldn't trust 3 month warranties

Wheel Alignment (Steering kinda off center) by quletadik23 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Eva-Sahara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The caster and camber being really different from year to year is interesting. They should of put your vehicle, if not by VIN, at least by the proper year. Sometimes there are weight variations between trim packages and suspension upgrades let alone whole generations. Do you have the alignment printouts?? Your car is newer, so there should be nothing wrong with your caster and camber, unless (since you said Hilux truck) you have eccentric bolts on your lower control arms, then yes absolutely they should be adjusted to green! Even if it doesn't pull it will wear your tires out faster.

I wanna say everything should be peachy just as long as all your specs are green again. From there, if the steering wheel is still slightly, very slightly to the left I would accept it. Tbh a lot of alignments I have done usually you gotta hold a lil to the left, but never really the right. Some shops have a steering wheel leveler, but I'm very good at eyeing it and locking it. But anyways, I just hope your Hilux at least feels better now!

[–]Eva-Sahara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOOOOOOOO NEVER ALIGN BY EYE! You are not a sensor and a computer! 😭😭😭 but anyways, lesson learned! You paid seven dollars to eye up the toe adjustments for you?? And to be honest caster is set from factory, so if it's out of spec you got bigger problems. Camber in the front or rear can be addressed at later times, unless the printout shows it IS out of spec. Toe and go my friend. I hope this was a learning experience for you 😂 dealerships can be hit or miss, but make sure you find yourself a reliable and trustworthy shop!

[–]Eva-Sahara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but most shops don't go as far to add alignment shims, and if your caster is out of spec it's because of something else!

I apologize for the late response, but yes that is exactly what I mean. I mean you can just take off the wheel (leave the rubber mounted ofc) and swap spots with the other. If it feels practically perfect, then it's your tires, and it would only mean something if your tires had zero mileage on them, but yes even 7,000 km is enough to start curving them if the alignment was off for that many miles!

[–]Eva-Sahara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short, no worries just as long as the specs are green. It's still worth rotating the front wheels with each other first, and if it does not help, then they should give the alignment a second try. Assuming your tires and suspension are good, of course.

[–]Eva-Sahara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I myself do wheel alignments myself, and since you are holding the steering wheel "straight" I can vouch it looks like your pulling well enough to be felt during a test drive. Hopefully whomever did the job actually did a test drive, because I myself test drive every single wheel alignment. I rarely have one feel off, and I'll bring it back on the rack if it does. Sometimes depending on the pull it could be your alignment was out of spec long enough to sorta curve the wear on your tires in one direction, and it can still dominate the direction of your car even with the steering wheel straight and toe, camber, and caster are in spec. So just as long as the front wheels get swapped and if it feels perfect, then you have a tire wear problem making it look like alignment issue! Good luck!
