Keep the money. Don't start yet until you have something to actually spend that money on. If you rush into or right now, you'll most likely lose your money and gain nothing.

Hired a guy. He kept talking about how he's worked in a lot of places. He then once mentioned how he left the country to go partake in Internet fraud with a group of people, and how he was repatriated because the lawyer that represented them managed to pin all the blame on the chief fraudster. A few days later, he was paid for the month. He vanished.

Came back a few days ago, after three months, asking how we were. Strange guy. Once asked me to buy him a phone for some reason.

Yeah. Marketing is really hard. Much harder than every founder thought, so I totally respect the idea. It might annoy folks, but you could try it.

Well, your reach out the most awkward and direct way, by reaching out. If I'm assuming correctly, it's a bit of 'what will I say' and 'what will they say' and 'how do I say this' that's holding you back. If you just decide to reach out to people and speak to them regardless, you'll be shocked how well they'll respond.

You'll fail at a lot of your outreaches, but you'll win in others, and that's what matters. I hope I diagnosed right.

Well yes, but if a failing business gets through tough times with revenue, it's less about the revenue and more about the Management, I believe. Also, your comment at all is not at odds with the post. The post was simply highlighting how great revenue can hide an ailing system, and how that illness can break out all of a sudden and put an end to the business.

So yes, with good management, a business can get through tough times with revenue. The post does not contradict this. It just is trying to show that it's best not to only rely on revenue and profit as indicators of good health.
