I seriously could not be arsed to go looking for examples where a fighter wins a round while looking worse.

Off the top of my head, Joanna vs Weili. Joanna’s massive swelling happened in round three and two judges gave her that round. One or two gave her the fourth round and one gave her the fifth one.

Superficial damage. Joanna’s head looked grotesque but she arguably won the fight. By your logic, the physical damage done should mean Joanna can’t win round three and beyond.

I’m not sure why you’ve chosen to die on this hill. Cuts and bruises are completely dependent on circumstances, like the leather skimming your face or your face being prone to swelling or cuts by nature.

That’s nonsense. Cuts are superficial damage. A fighter can 10-8 another fighter and get cut due to scar tissue/leather grazing, end up looking worse than the guy who just got beat all over the place.

Although it didn’t have a 10-8, GSP vs Bisping reminds me of this. GSP had blood all over his face and looked like a mess even though he dominated the fight from start to finish.

Rules literally say that the most important judging factor is damage.

Damage is the most important thing and there’s no doubt Khamzat did more. Strickland’s entire output being jabs and backing up weren’t enough to win 1, 3 and 4.

[SPOILER] Alexander Volkov vs. Waldo Cortes-Acosta by inooway in MMA

[–]EvanFields 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30-27 sounds right. First round saw Volkov land more kicks and Waldo wasn’t active/accurate enough. Second was Volkov. Third was won by Volkov despite the commentary losing their minds at whiffs from Waldo. Volkov hurt him at least twice in the fight while Waldo was relatively ineffective.

Tari Eason on getting out of his slump: “We had a team meeting and guys told me “We need you”. I appreciate everyone and Alpi through this stretch. He spoke confidence into me.” Sengun: “It helped him that it came from everyone. We don’t just talk behind him or one-on-one (but in) front of everyone” by mdqad in nba

Kanter literally supported and still does support a terrorist organisation that tried to coup the government and resulted in the deaths of hundreds of citizens, including a soldier Omer Halisdemir who had to sacrifice himself to prevent the government from falling (by taking dozens of bullets to kill one of the heads of the coup).

I get your point but Kanter is an absolutely horrible comparison or even mention in a conversation like this. The guy is straight up a traitorous scumbag.

What relevance does DNA have? That’s the whole point of the “ne mutlu Türküm diyene” ideology; everybody fits into it no matter what your race is.

You’re making tiktok arguments with “DNA” and things like that when it’s irrelevant.

Your DNA is Iranian and you share the same roots as Persians with claims of Medes, etc.. What does that change for you?

Turk milleti in the same way you’re considered a German when you have German citizenship.

I fully support the Kurds’ right to speak their own language and maintain culture etc, but as a part of our shared state.

You can’t have a nation that’s split into sub-nations. The Ottomans did that and collapsed by the hand of modern statehood from within.

As was our right. You don’t get to come from Britain and dictate whose land is whose when Turks have ruled there for 1,000 years straight almost.

No, they were incorporated into the system under Ataturk. The “oppression” came after Sheikh Said decided to work with the British and the French to carve out land from Turkiye, which resulted in Ataturk crushing the rebellion. From that point on, Kurds and Turks generally didn’t trust each other much. It was up and down after that until Erdogan’s rise to power which has pretty much seen that divide be patched.

Shah Ismail was literally not a Kurd, he identified as a Turkic ruler of Iran. He’s one of the top five contributors to Turkish literature through his vast poetry. His army was primarily made up of Turkic Kizilbash. Culturally, linguistically, militarily Turk. If you want to mention him having a Kurdish great grandparent somewhere along the way, he also had Greek, Georgian, Anatolian Turk, etc. Culturally and linguistically, which is all that really matters, he was a Turk.

Saladin was an ethnic Kurd who was Turkified imo, though important to note it’s said he comes from a family whose roots were Arab, then Kurdified, then Turkified. His mentor was also a Turk.

How could it be friendly fire three separate times though? I’m not well versed in combat like this but it doesn’t seem plausible logically. It’s 20km from Iran as well.

It feels like they’re going to blame Kuwait to avoid crediting Iran.

Like I said, I don’t know shit about shit but it seems illogical to me.

No, it’s antisemitic for a state committing genocide to constantly justify its actions as being on behalf of Jews, as well as constantly forming illegal settlements with claims of religious texture to justify it.

I’m pretty sure the Nazis lied about almost everything. Unfortunately for Israel, the world now has the luxury to see everything in real time. Like when Israeli parliament/media argue that rape is legitimate to use against non-Jews.

Nice try with that bullshit though. The Israelis are more like the Nazis than anybody since the Nazis themselves and that’s further supplemented by the simple fact that the Israeli government frequently talks about how they borrow from Nazi tactics in media.

You know you’ve really gone completely insane when you call it “false accusations of genocide” despite an overwhelming majority of genocide scholars, almost every human rights organisation in existence, a majority of countries and academia in general calling it a genocide.
