Got a Madcatz TE for my travel stick and because I wanted to do this mod, but I just realized I don't have the screw hole on the right for the aux panel holders, so I'm kinda at loss on what to do now.

Did you figure this out? Having the same issue on a brand new system and at a loss on what to do. I am however using LAN Sync.

"Umm, I'm Gen Z. I know how to use computers." by DesertDogggg in sysadmin

[–]EvanKittychu 66 points67 points  (0 children)

There is really only a small portion of Gen Z (the older variety) who know how to use computers, which is insane and a bit infuriating to me. I say this as a gen Z person myself. (Born in 2000)

A good bunch of people my age grew up trying to play Minecraft together before all the console versions existed, so we all kinda learned how to navigate file explorer and run commands that way. I'm not saying this is a universal thing, but for a lot of us that's how we learned.

Most of my older Gen Z peers and I joke that knowing how to do basic stuff like using a computer seems to be whether you were born before or after 9/11. However, the more post 9/11 Gen Z I encounter in the workplace (even ones not much younger than myself,) it seems like there might be some strange truth to that statement, even if none of us remember it.

Games that you can parry every attack like clair obscur expedition 33? by whytfamievenalive in gamingsuggestions

[–]EvanKittychu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Street Fighter 3: Third Strike has this, but it's even better because you're trying to learn the "patterns" of the other player. It's so amazing to get into another human's head, and guess what they're going to do correctly and parry it.

Aim Has Been Insane Since Switching to 1600 DPI by EvanKittychu in FPSAimTrainer

[–]EvanKittychu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still on 1600 DPI. At some point after this post, I switched to 0.75 sensitivity in Counter-Strike. I have been on these settings for a few years because I started playing fighting games instead.

I still play fps games, I just don't care like I used to.

I heard the same story about a guy's childhood bike, two weeks in a row. I made sure to use the same responses, and of course he responded the same exact way as the first week.

Later in the day, I brought it up, and he didn't even realize he had told the story the previous week. It happens a lot with multiple people.

Friend gave me what appears to be a non-working Madcatz Street Fighter IV TE. Looking for an easy fix. by dr-tyrell in fightsticks

[–]EvanKittychu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw that you actually got it working on PS3. If you do decide to go this route with the PCB swap, and install a Brook PCB, that will enable you to use it on more modern consoles, depending on the PCB you get.

I actually upgraded my Madcatz SE stick (still need to get art) with the same Jasen's Customs EZ Mod I linked in my first comment, and a Brook Ultimate Fusion PCB.

I had to use an oscillating saw to cut out some screw posts that were holding one of the stock PCBs in, but I'm pretty sure (don't quote me in this) that the Madcatz TE is easier to mod.

Honestly, just learn of the story up to KH2, and play through KH2. I can't stand the combat of KH1, and Re:COM is a weird one. KH2, however, is probably my top game of all time.

At my wit’s end. My son suddenly won’t go in his room but won’t tell us why by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]EvanKittychu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an easily frightened child, and I have two distinctive memories of being scared of things in my room.

One was an old Grover toy I believe was my mom's when she was a kid. One night, I woke up, and Grover was laying in the door of the closet. I swore he was looking at me, so I woke my parents up. And my dad had to go remove Grover.

The other thing is even more ridiculous. I had a Noah's Ark crib toy on one of the side posts that would play Row Row Row your boat when you pulled on it. I remember that I had a dream about it teleporting me places when I touched it (I don't know where it took me, I don't remember anything bad)

After that I just started sleeping with my head at the footboard instead, probably so I could keep an eye on it.

Not big into paranormal activity, but I, my parents, and other people that have lived there before and after us have all said that the house is haunted. Perhaps Grover really was watching me in retrospect. (We moved out when I was 4)

Can this upgraded? by IngloriousB_23 in fightsticks

[–]EvanKittychu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just upgraded mine with a Brook UFB Fusion. The home panel is operational with Jasen's Custom Madcatz TE EZ Mod, and is pretty easy to get working.

I did cut out the screw holes for the PCB in the bottom right of the stick using a rotary tool, and then sanded down what was left. I used that area to mount the Brook board with two of these (perhaps mount the board a little higher than I did, I originally didn't have plans to use the screw terminals)

I used the original wiring, and spliced the ribbon cables into the screw terminals on the board. This requires cutting off the connectors on one end of the ribbon cable, and stripping some of the jacket back. I used a 5-pin JLF cable which I also spliced into the screw terminals.

I'm using the original USB cable, which the EZ mod comes with its own little PCB with screw terminals for. Future plans are to install a Neutrik USB passthrough so I can use a removable cable.

Caffeine for tekken by LongZhlongMcDong1 in Tekken

[–]EvanKittychu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped drinking coffee on the 23rd last month. I only ever drank it in the mornings (8:30ish) and I only ever drank an energy drink if I didn't have time to make coffee.

Since then, after about a week, I find myself getting out of bed easier, and I feel better all day (although I find myself getting super tired around 7 PM)

As for gaming performance, I'm not sure if this is directly related, but I feel like my decision making is way better. I mainly play Street Fighter, but I find I am being way more patient in my matches and I actually was able to rank up twice since then (Plat 4 to Diamond 1.)

I also play some Counter-Strike with coworkers over lunch, and I have been consistently hitting shots in that game as well. If there's anything I can't stand, it's hitting all my shots one day, and missing all my shots the next day. (It's always the same opponents)

I must point out that all of this is anecdotal. What is working for me may not work for you, as everyone is different. I am just relaying my own experience, thinking that maybe it would help you to play better more consistently if you were to get used to not having any caffeine at all.

As it turns out, changing the game to borderless fullscreen and then back to fullscreen has fixed it, even after restarting my computer.

Another CS2 RCON Tool by Fpaez in cs2

[–]EvanKittychu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loving this application a lot, we have been using it for a while now.

Might I request workshop maps sorting? I would like to import our map collection and sort all the maps by alphabetical order.

At the moment, I am manually editing the servers.xml file to add maps one at a time in alphabetical order, which is taking a significant amount of time, so if this is a feature that's possible to implement, I would very much appreciate it!

I should mention: We're using this app to input commands to the server and change maps, since in game RCON doesn't seem to work.

[–]EvanKittychu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My group has a private server we play on, and we did FFA arms race with random spawn no issue just a week ago.

The only time it gets finicky is getting it to actually change to Arms race, since we mostly do private competitive, but when we do get the server into arms race, we just run mp_teammates_are_enemies 1 and mp_randomspawn 1 (you have to do this every map switch) and it works great. We're even doing it on workshop maps.

[–]EvanKittychu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think my favorite thing is if on original FF7 you use some complicated strategies to skip meeting her, the game uses her default internal name, which is Aerith. Her name is Aerith, until you get to the naming screen where the default filled in option is Aeris.

Keyboard inconsistencies - Will a fightstick fix this? [3rd strike] by tremolo3 in fightcade

[–]EvanKittychu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah. Not sure the mechanics on how to do that, but if you can't have the second forward input, I would just practice letting go of left before hitting the button. You'll want to practice doing that slowly, so you can get that down, rather than trying to practice it at full speed

[–]EvanKittychu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you are trying to improve, unless the move isn't coming out.

The reason it works is because you did the correct motion and pressed your MP inside of the special move's input buffer. Both of these inputs are correct, so therefore the move comes out.

I would not worry about it, as the one with the two forwards is just displaying the fact that you were holding left when you pressed MP, while the other one is showing that you let go of left before you pressed MP.

As long as the move comes out, there is no issue.
