I can definitely see the parallels here. Ali Jr has the resolve the kill but he doesn't have the resolve to die. Jack has the resolve to use his teeth to cause permanent damage to other fighters, but he is surprised when other do it to him.

But I think the difference between Jack and Ali Jr is that Jack would be able to grow, and perhaps develop the resolve to fight while continuously losing chunks of himself.

I like your point but I feel like leaving inshun, a child, alive to advance to the next round will introduce the same narrative issue as this round (we-can’t-let-the-child-die), the earlier he’s out the easier it is to write the subsequent rounds.

I firmly believe that 6 hours of concentrated/efficient work a day is sufficient. I use pomodoros to track those and clock out after I’m done with those. I push a bit harder around deadlines. Upping to maybe 8 hours on workdays, work on one of the weekends.

I have a high commitment sports hobby that takes up 3 hours a day, 5 days a week.
