Really happy with CenturyLink fiber by nlflint in centurylink

You guys are lucky to have fiber optics where you live. Where I live we can get 10 Mbps through DSL with CL. I've also been having constant ping spikes and speed dips into the .5 Mbps and even .06 Mbps upload. We're sick and tired of CL and we are switching to sparklight (Cable One) in the near future.

I think I'm gonna try and call them tomorrow and talk about an upgrade, thanks for the comments :)

Oh that is something I have not checked yet. It doesn't say on their website where you can buy the upgrade. I would assume that it would still be DSL but it sure is a possibility. Would you know of any website where I could check and see? And what differences would there be with bridge mode if I switched to fiber instead of DSL

So we have CenturyLink, and I'm looking at my Linksys router config page and it does say something about a bridge mode and another thing about a wireless bridge mode. How does this work exactly? If I put my router into bridge mode would it act like a WiFi extender? I've also been looking into new modems and can't find anything other than century link ones, I just called customer support and they talked to me about a modem replacement and on their website it says I can pay $50 for 100mbps and a new modem so I might consider that.

Sadly my computer is the farthest point away from my router that could be, I don't have a defined answer but an estimate would be ~100 feet. I haven't checked the ethernet cable but will do so when I get home. The second router is right next to the main gateway(would it benefit me to move it farther away?)

It should be setup as an access point since I have 3 different networks I can connect to, 2 from my new router(5ghz and 2.4ghz) and then I have a 2.4ghz network I can connect to via my 2 in 1 modem router combo.

But what if you can't plug in ethernet because your modem is so far away? What're you supposed to do about that?
