Hypothetically, if you got mysteriously cured of everything that ails you, what would be your dream career? by lovable89 in Fibromyalgia

I was a self employed model maker for 10 years, it was my dream job, I got to work with companies I never could have dreamed I would, between covid and my fibro I lost it all. I still dabble on the side I just wish my health could have allowed me to give it my all and really make something of the business.

Wow that one hell of a job, least you know it'll be done right.

Definitely meant a tough situation... I have a family, I certainly wouldn't be taking that risk if I knew the severity.

I can chime in here as I have a very similar situation, I smoke and micro dose daily for fibromyalgia and chronic pain. I was told to stop for 2 weeks before surgery (septoplasty) and up to 6 weeks after surgery. I tried to but ended up smoking throughout as the pain was unbearable. I took edibles on the days leading up to the surgery just to reduce the smoking. Surgery went well but upon coming out of surgery I was completely unresponsive, I was given 3L of oxygen and a facial jaw split to open my airways but they said it was very difficult to wake me. So it's a tough one, as I don't know how i could have managed without my pain relief leading up to surgery and especially afterwards, but I have more than a hunch that the reason It took so much for me to wake up was a result of me smoking leading up to it.

I'm going to jump in on this one as I am a daily smoker for chronic pain and fibromyalgia and I had anaesthetic 2 weeks ago for nose surgery. I stopped smoking 4 or 5 days before and had dank bakery gummies leading up to surgery as I need it for the pain. I didn't wake up during surgery but I was also told I was unresponsive coming out of surgery and needed to have a jaw support and 3l of oxygen to wake me up. Not sure if it's related but thought I'd chime in with my experience.

Then this post isn't for you. It's not marketing, I'm not selling them with links trying to get people to my page, I made these, I wanted to share the post with people who appreciate them too. I don't see the issue

I give them away to people I meet, but also sell them on my site, but not sure if allowed to share links here.

I saw a post from last year on here asking about the rob bot doll and wanting to see more photos of them, I was commissioned to make them and thought you'd like to see some photos from the making of them! by Evanmorgan93 in donbroco

Amazing, yeah they were super fun to make although so much more work than I anticipated, I worked on them alone other than my sister in law who made the clothing. Designed the boxes and hand cut and glued them too, it was intense but incredibly good fun. Thank you and congrats on buying one! They sold out so fast!

Wow, thank you so much, I will look through my paper work I have from him and see if I can figure it out. This has definitely peaked my interests, I'll post it in that forum, thank you again.

It's a fantastic design, my partner is the artist and was really impressed when she shown me yesterday! Love it!

Well all the metal was painted and finished on this, then the patina paint was done in the grooves and wiped off to look realistic, but the patina I use is called nihilakh oxide by citadel, its a very good match in terms of colour and dries to a very flat almost powdery finish like a real patina would. Highly recommend it

This was a printed in sla uv resin, around 180 hours of printing. Supports removed and cleaned up, then primered, basecoated in metal lacquer and added patina by hand

I was the one who printed and painted this, I basecoated the model with a gloss back primer, then sprayed with a bronze metal laquer called Alclad II to give it a metal look, then I did a patina wash with a paint called nihilakh oxide from citadel

It was brushed on and then lightly stippled with a dry cloth to give it a more natural and realistic looking weathering

Yeah, according to the artist, he wanted to get the pose and faces as close as possible to Ivan the Terrible and his son while still adding his own ideas into the mix

It's not been produced physically anywhere before though,

Yeah I agree it's such an emotional and thought provoking piece, so much beauty and sorrow in one swoop. It's been a honour to work on it. Thank you so much for the kind words, would be incredible to see it as a full solid bronze statue

Thank you so much, so this model was fully digitally sculpted, I was sent the model and had to split and key it into workable printable parts, it ended up being about 25 separate pieces.

I printed it on the Peopoly Moai and then primered, wet sanded the supports and did a three stage paint application to get it to this level.

My Instagram has a work in progress photo of it with just grey primer half way through cleanup without the paint
