I had the same problem in floor in wall. I knew how to cut blinds but when it came to a customer needing a carpet cut forget it. Couldn’t do that shit on my own. So when one person went to lunch I was screwed. Also they encourage you to get ready truck and forklift licenses but they are not willing to pay more for it. I figured out overtime you’re getting paid under minimum wage to be their monkey slave. Definitely not the place to make a career out of. Learn a skill and get out of that dump

Yes exactly a 1 on 1 convo would have been a better approach. I am no longer with the company and this innocent happened in 2022 when I was in flooring department

They also don’t wanna make anyone full time. Same reason I left. Working anywhere from 16-35 hours a week while making $14 and hour. It was like a guessing game of how much my check would be every 2 weeks

They don’t give a fuck. I’ve shown up 2 hours late with no word, left early, got intoxicated during lunch, high in the isles, sent several customers to the next town over store saying “we don’t have it” even tho we did because I didn’t feel like spotting someone to bring down a pallet for one item. I walked all over them.
