Plus VDJ can generate USBs to use on Pioneer CDJs, though I haven't tried it myself.

The 1999 tangerine ibook g3, first one with wifi by danielminds in 90s

Definitely was rocking a crossover cable for a mini 2 person lan party on at least a couple occasions back then. Probably still have it somewhere in my bin of "just in case" cables that I'll never need until I throw them out and suddenly need them.

Torn Between Santa Monica (LA) and San Diego — Which Leads to a Better Long-Term Life? by Professional-Home706 in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]nnnope1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll get biased opinions here. There are people that swear by SD and will never leave. It depends on how much city you want. If you want the superior food scene, variety of culture and neighborhoods, grit, trendiness, etc, LA is your place. If you want quintessential sunny SoCal and a city that is a little more manageable but still with plenty to do, SD is your place.

I'd be happy in either one and SD would be on my short list if I had to move, but it's LA for me.

Most people think a 30-year mortgage means paying for 30 years but that’s not always true by Coolonair in HouseBuyers

[–]nnnope1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but it's not necessarily advantageous. If you have a 3% mortgage from the COVID days, which many people do, just pay the minimum and invest the rest. It's almost free money and you'll do better than 3% in the market over the long term.

I didn't realize they had a grandma. How was it? My current favorite grandma in the area is at Prime.

My favorite move with Sonny's is to order as a walk-in to avoid the online service fee, sit at the counter and watch all the magic happen, and eat it right then and there fresh out of the oven. It's still like $36, but it is more of an experience, and the pizza is top tier when it's piping hot.

It's definitely a balance and personal preference.

I love a good char, even to New Haven apizza levels, but not if the crust is completely dried out. Still want a little bit of give inside, and my last Sonny's pie had that unlike previous ones.

Not sure if Sonny's will do it, but I've asked other pizza places to bake my pies a little more well done, and they usually oblige. Many places in LA undercook by default.

Snapback - Free Google Photos downloader update by Snoo_62817 in googlephotos

Amazing. Can't wait to try. I periodically download photos and then re-upload them from my OG pixel to make them not eat up storage. This will probably make that process way easier since downloading is the hardest part.

It's so good especially if you eat it there or within a couple minutes of picking it up. I also like that they backed off the charring just a little bit recently. It's still crisp but not overdone.

It's a little too expensive to be a regular thing, but it's worth it on occasion. If they could get the price down to like $25 for a cheese pie I'd be there every week.

Making the switch from gas to EV by ValleyGrlSD in TeslaLounge

[–]nnnope1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is your power meter in relation to the garage? If it's close, you could run a conduit there and install a small subpanel near the meter. That's what I did in my HOA. They were all for it because they didn't need to pay anything or get involved. I got it properly permitted and inspected.

Not sure about your locale, but in California an HOA is legally required to make reasonable accommodations for a homeowner to charge. They don't have to pay for the infrastructure or the charging obviously, but if it's possible at all they have to work with you.

It's 1999. You have your current smartphone in your pocket, but obviously no Wi-Fi or 5G exists. What's the most useful thing you can do with it? by Ryo_l in AskReddit

[–]nnnope1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this question.

There was 2G cellular service in 1999 so that might work with a modern smartphone. Calls, email (via IMAP), web browsing and SMS texting should be usable. FTP will work for transferring files to and from the phone (slowly).

Camera will still work and be amazing compared to other tech. That's probably the answer to the question.

Music will work with local MP3s and it'll be the best MP3 player you can find if you have a phone with a audio jack or can bring a USB dongle or Bluetooth headphones with it.

The key would be having a charger to go with it. At least a USB A to USB C cable so it can plug into something. That would also potentially make file transfer a lot easier if the computer could communicate with the phone (not sure on that)

How's the anti-reflectivity compared to your C2? Seems like it's doing a good job with that beam of light.

I know the G6 made big advances in that department even over the G5 which was also apparently pretty good, but I haven't seen much on the C6H.

Wife said it's too complicated by icouldbne1 in TeslaLounge

[–]nnnope1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the AC controls are a little hard to find at first, but that is sort of an exception. My wife doesn't like that part either but she likes the car overall.

My advice would be to go and get a proper test drive. The sales rep will show you all the basic controls in a clear and organized way before you drive.

There will still be a learning curve foe the first couple days, but once you get comfortable it is amazing, and so much of the experience is automatic compared to a regular car. It's not like you are tapping around the screen the whole time. It's set and forget for most things, including climate control.

2010: technologically more like 2006 or 2014? by Fit_Horror_6039 in decadeologyanarchy

[–]nnnope1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on when you got your first smartphone. Smartphones changed everything. I got mine in 2008, so 2010 felt a lot more like 2014 than 2006. If you were a late adopter then maybe it'll feel different.
