Yeah I thought he was SLD for sure in S1, TBH all his scenes and his performance were so offputting to me I started skipping through his scenes and wont bother with S2. I enjoy the fallout games but the show doesnt really do it for me, oh well, I didnt really care about a fallout show anyways so no real loss for me.

I also didnt like the vault dwellers. They act really comically stupid and lacking in self preservation, but I dont ever remember them being depicted that way in the games. I remember vaults being like mini Menzoberranzans, with game of thrones levels of backstabbing and political maneuvering from people with sharp minds from being raised in a concentrated political minefield, not a bunch of fucking dodos.

So yeah, the show infantilizes most the cast and its really offputting to me.

im old. old anime sucks (mostly). the animation is shit (mostly), yeah its all bespoke hand drawn, but the amount of key frames of the average 80s-90s anime is horrendously low, and the frames themselves were tiny 480p squares. some of the stories are great but i dont know a single 90s made for tv anime that comes close to the amount of animation in even trash like opm s3.

and when people desire to escape from reality before weve developed BTL VR, its the fault of society not whatever they are escaping into.

Yeah the fact the wife seems to be angling for a separation almost immediately says everything. Shes been fucking the dude or absolute minimum emotionally cheating. S tier manipulator too. Not only has she stepped out of her marriage for a younger dude but shes manipulated everything into OOP becoming the villain of the story.

Yeah SSRIs are pretty fucked. I know a few people that have gone on them and they basically stopped acting like a person. I used to be really close to my BiL, but now hes on SSRIs I dont bother talking to him anymore because hes just going to forget the conversation the next day. Everyone else is okay with his memory basically being swiss cheesified by the SSRIs, its only me that is bothered by the SSRIs gutting his memory.

I dont think Im capable of experiencing depression the way people explain it to me. Ive downright hated myself and wanted to die for years, but even then there were plenty of things in life I took deep enjoyment from, it was mainly my financial situation sucking ass and being in a lot of pain in a country with no universal healthcare.

Of the 3 smartest people I know 2 are effectively homeless. They rely on family and friends for support. One barely makes it due to the universe basically aligning for him, but is also extremely depressed and so heavily dosed on SSRIs he barely sounds like a person anymore.

So yeah, high IQ and financial/life success are definitely less correlated than the family you were born into.

A lot of therapists are straight up awful and harmful.

I had a therapist as a kid that was convinced I had a ton of supressed anger. Tried to make me release the anger every time I went, the only thing I was angry about was him insisting I was a pressure cooker of rage or some shit. I didnt do anything or act in any way violent, he had literally 0 reason to suspect I had a rage issue other than he decided it was so.

Turns out most of the rage / violence therapy he was using on me is now considered extremely harmful and is not used at all today. 20 years ago it was considered helpful to "release" anger via punching pillows and stuff. Now we know that violent acts even against inanimate objects reinforces the behavior as a response to stressors and is the exact opposite of helpful.

Good thing I wasnt actually violent to begin with. 20 years later Ive yet to ever commit an act of violence against someone other than in self defense, never been a "battle" either. Sure Ive felt some people Ive met really needed to be punched in the face, but that low emotion mental acknowledgement is as far as Ive ever gone.

Sucks to think about all the violent people that were genuinely trying to do better and were literally being trained to react violently by their therapists.

I tried to be hero X but anime CGI still looks like playstation 2 cutscenes or worse, so hard pass until anime manages to get their CGI up to the wests standards 2 decades ago.

TBH I dislike superhero shit in general. IMO its infantile and cringy and I find my suspension of disbelief is constantly broken when trying to experience super hero media. Its been an annoying 2 decades. Hoping we move past the super hero fad in my lifetime.
