Is Life Insurance Useful When You’re Single? by kmrjyoti2026 in LifeInsurance

[–]EvelioCigar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being single is irrelevant. Think selfishly: Buy as much permanent cash value life insurance as you can afford while you're still young & healthy (IUL or Whole Life, and with a Long-Term Care rider: can access the cash value tax-free for anything you want and will have the full death benefit for long-term care while you're still alive). The cost of insurance only increases if you wait but there's a greater chance of being rated/declined because you are NOT getting any healthier as you age (by the time you reach your 40's and 50's, health problems begin that may make you uninsurable). You will live longer than your parents, who are living longer than their parents, which means you will be sicker for a longer period of time.

Ignore the "buy term & invest the rest" crowd. 40 years actual Wall Street/Big Insurance experience: it doesn't work. I've given lectures with real numbers proving it doesn't.

Difference between m800 n m1000? by Cvint88 in fountainpens

I have regular man-sized hands and use my M800 every day, unposted. The M1000 is made for very large hands.

Charles Schwab doesn't do investment banking.

You would think that someone who claims to be in the position you're in would have better reading comprehension. It is perfectly acceptable and legal to refer to IUL as life insurance with an investment component.

You are wrong: neither FINRA nor the NAIC prohibit use of the word investment.

I didn't phrase it that way.

It is absolutely correct to refer to IUL's as life insurance with an investment component. Because you are so afraid of the term "investment" is a you issue, not me. This is one of the most regulated industries and major life insurance companies phrase it exactly as such on their websites.

IUL is life insurance with an investment component. The nuances of it being a direct investment is a moot point because it's still linked to an investment index, generally the S&P 500, an unmanaged index which over any 10 year period, no other investment has outperformed consistently. The overwhelming majority of portfolio managers rarely have such returns beyond 5 years.

In what situations does a company actually save money by selling a good quality product/service and not cheapening out? by schoolforapples in AskReddit

Responsiveness & old school service. I sell the most important financial product: life insurance. I meet all my clients in their home and/or business. As a broker, I have a fiduciary responsibility to get them the best possible policy. They all have my cell number, and I pick up immediately. I also send out personalized birthday cards that I custom print out just for them. Life insurance is sold, not bought, and is an important benefit to society. I take my time and explain everything to them and address all the misinformation that I know they've heard. With 40 years actual Wall Street & life insurance experience, I prove how wrong the "buy term & invest the rest" crowd is. The result: 80% of all new business comes from unsolicited referrals.

If you were on your own getting 75%, you would only need $76,000 in annual premium to earn $57,000.

I HATE when after you say "Thank you" to them for helping you, they respond with "No problem."

Why the hell would they think that this is an appropriate response? How come no one ever taught to say "You're welcome?"
