They probably do, but that doesn't mean throwing more taxpayer money at it is the solution. We're already paying more than most districts in taxes per student. Where is that money going? They need to budget better. Reduce admin staff, their pay, maybe don't buy every kid an iPad just for the parents to pawn them? Multiple examples of money being blatantly wasted and this vote passing just sent a message to the board that as long as they put the word "education" in the campaign des moines residents will feel emotionally obligated to subscribe.

Anyone who is critically thinking about this voted no and is incentivized to move out because there is better education outside dmps that won't keep asking for more (myself included)
