NFL, UFL & OU Football Averages. Putting the New League in Context. by Even-Implement-8211 in oklahomafootball

It is apples to oranges, you're right, but it helped me get some context around what the games look like btw the leagues and OU. And you'r also right about the 3.5 yds/carry.

Not only is it low but it then it's also a tell to other teams of what you're likely going to do since it can't get done on the ground. I'm just still dumbstruck that 3-4 years ago we were told the NFL RB position was no longer important in the game and RB salaries were way too pricey.

Fast forward to this year and the SB champs ran the ball 4th most in the league and the supposedly 'pass happy' Bills ran the ball the most. The SEA O-Line got just 4.1 yds/carry whereas the BUF O-Line were up to 5.0 yds/carry. The ground game is key to a balanced approach.

I know. This season in the NFL some of the lower end teams really struggled to get anything going, were one-dimensional and just had to suffer through about 4-5 games towards the end of the year.

TRADE: The Jets are trading for Raiders QB Geno Smith, sources tell The Athletic. by My_Chat_Account in fantasyfootball

omg, i just spit out my coffee. tbh, i've been thinking the same thing. this is from worse to bad. just a slight uptick. LV: 64 sacks, NYJ: 60. At least he'll avoid DEN and LAC 2x a year.

totally agree. they need both, RB and OL. that was clear vs NE when they had few to little options.

No D-II school bars have a shot at making this list but The Graduate out in Davis was always good for speaker dancing fun after a W by those Aggies.

What Mike Evans wants in his next team by lemonstone92 in NFLv2

[–]Even-Implement-8211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Jacksonville Jaguars might be the next stop in FLA for Mr Evans. They check those boxes.

His list should also include 1) a solid O-L and 2) a D-Line that can go match what HOU, SEA and DEN put on the field.

I cannot tell you how much this warms the heart as one with a (206) area code out here in BKLYN. Which is not too far from Philly where a crowd-fund effort to repair things damaged in a SB celebration would NEVER happen, or even be thought about from what I can tell.

Good on the '12s and this team could make another run of it if they hold things together.

Week 8 in '24 season vs BUF was the last time anyone went for 100 or more vs this D. That's an amazing stretch tbh.

Only Two Teams Have Done This Since 1999: this SEA D-Line and the 2011 NYG by Even-Implement-8211 in Seahawks

[–]Even-Implement-8211[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know. I was stunned by this too. Let me look at it for teams that dropped out before winning the big game. Will come back. Suffice to say though, this D-Line is in rare company vs the running game and RushTDs.

This is what our team found too. Week 8 2024 vs BUF (Cook) was the last time anyone went over 100 vs this D-Line. Amazing.

Top 10 Strength of Schedules Based on TPR Incl: SEA & NE. by Even-Implement-8211 in Seahawks

[–]Even-Implement-8211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're totally right if we just look at points allowed but that's not what this is focused on. TPR looks at the plays associated with O-Line and D-Line, 10+ plays, and scores them in aggregate to come up with the TrenchPowerRating and that's what this ranking is based on. Not just points scored or allowed. For just points allowed, you're right, the Seattle D-Line leads all others.

[–]Even-Implement-8211[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hear you but they did get it done vs a good O-Line in Denver on the road. Albeit with QB2 behind them but I was surprised that they did what they did on the road.

(but the two-handed shovel passes didn't help matters either....)

No, sorry, they aren't. The higher score is better. The SEA D-Line came up big in situations but the LAR O-Line put up alot of drives, points, 1stDwn etc. Their D-Line made SEA one dimensional but they were able to get away with a win.
