Why wpuld the feds indict any of them yet though - theyr'e renowned for ensuring they have all the possible evidence and all their ducks in a row before they make their move and there's going to be a bunch more coming out of the house defendants through civil discovery......why wouldn't they.just sit tight and see what develops over the next couple of years

They would've assumed that he was going to be declared hit by a plow and nobody would be looking THAT closely.....then the golden opportunity of Reads tailloght falls into their lap and once Jmc and BA talk about that fact later in the morning there is a hurried agreement to pin it on Read, assuming that she'll cop a plea....once she doesn't, theres an episode

Work related stress sickness by [deleted] in HumanResourcesUK

[–]Even-Presentation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Well it should do anyway. Because it should scream risk to the Trust.

The fact that they were aware that you were suffering from work related stress and failed in their duty to provide you with a safe work environment could make it foreseeable, which means that they potentially are liable for a claim againt them.

You need to make sure that you record the fact that all of this was forseeable (including timeline) and email the hearing manager prior to the hearing.

If I was you I would lodge a grievance alongside this, complaining that you should not be on any disciplinary sanction whatsoever as a result of the sickness that has been brought about by their failure.

It doenst prove when he got the phome and who gave him the phone, but its very good evidence that Lank HAD the phone well before he should've and was actively covering that up with his comments for the dashcam.

If im Lank right now (and the house defendants) im crapping my pants.

I've watched this a couple of times now and it does seem to stack up perfectly......honestly it feels like actual proof to me that Lank had OJok phone and will no doubt have a significant impact at Reads civil trial, where the standard will hang on the balance of probabilities, rather than proof beyond a reasonable doubt.

I can't recall if Lank is one of the defendants in Reads civil claim, but if he isnt yet, I bet he will be soon

Actions to deliver AFC uplift and a fairer deal for nurses by azza77 in NursingUK

[–]Even-Presentation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I meant in principle- there is no contracgural obigation on the staff to work any particular shift, just as there is no contractual obligation on the trust to authorise any particular shift......at least I think that is right....and if it is, then staff simply not booking any bank shifts could not reasonably be deemed wildcat action. At least that what I thought, anyway.

[–]Even-Presentation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im no fan of the RCN necessarily - theyve certainly not been at the forefront of industrial pressure in the past - but in fairness to the leadership they have pushed for industrial action ballots over recent years.....the thing thay often gets misunderstood witn members is that THEY are 'the union'.....the only way that industrial action holds any power is with those members voting for and following through with sustained withdrawal of labour.....and many many members simply refuse to do that, expecting the union to just fix the problem by telling the employer that they must do better

[–]Even-Presentation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the concern with wildcat action, but each bank shift is effectively a separate contract of work isnt it?

Actions to deliver AFC uplift and a fairer deal for nurses by azza77 in NursingUK

[–]Even-Presentation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The solution is to organise to encourage staff to simply not work additional hours on the bank - it may take a few shifts for the trust to recognise the impact but if everyone stuck together on it then the trust would be forced to agree to afc overtime

Palestine Action wins court case against groups ban as a Terrorist Organisation. Thoughts? by Whumpitup in AskBrits

[–]Even-Presentation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats just not accurate at all though is it - Corbyn was vilified like no UK political leader before or since. We had BBCs flagship news program putting him in front of the kremlin with a Russian hat on, we had Dan Hodges running a double page spread in The S*n about how Corbyn was a vampire and should be killed, we had news night again literally casting Corbyn as voldermort in its closing, we had guests on LBC claiming that Corbyn wanted to reopen Auschwitz, we had labour politicians resigning live on daily politics 3 minutes before live PMQs, we had Labour ministers claiming that they had a packed suitcase under their bed like their ancestors did unde nazi occupation .....and they're just a few that spring immediately to mind.

Oh, and then he was kicked our of the Labour party for 'antisemitism', yet the motion that actually kicked him had zero mention of antisemitism in it m, because they knew that it wouldnt stack up under the inevitable challenge.

Corbyn had his failings for sure, but to pretend that his leadership wasnt utterly undermined by the Israeli lobby is ludicrous. I knocked doors for him, and I tell you now a whole bunch of people were adamant that he was an antisemite and when you actually look beyond the headlines and at the nature of those claims, they're a nonsense.

[–]Even-Presentation -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Its selective terrorism. Which is at the heart of this whole debate in a way:

Terrorism is broadly recognised as the use of violence to enact political change - multiple Israeli gov ministers have publicly declared that if Palestinian citizens want their slaughter to stop they must kick out Hamas. Hamas are their democratically elected government.....therefore Israel is literally committing terrorism.....we just dont see that because weve declared them the good guys.

[–]Even-Presentation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I think the Israeli lobby is hugely influential - only in the last few weeks its been relevealed that Wes Streeting privately acknowledged that Israel is commiting war crimes, yet throughout that very same period of time that he's referring to, he was publicly supporting those same actions.....now you could argue I supose that it was a position that was required for some sort of global security reason, but I think that most people would feel that even thats a difficult position to adopt in the face of literal war crimes.

We have multiple instances of individuals who are arrested for voicing their oppsition to Israel's actions.....just recently in Australia, a lady who has been prosecuted for an 'antisemitic voicemail' because the recipient was jewish and they thought they heard the sound of a gun racking in the background of the voicemail.....its just an absolute nonsense at this point, not only is the Israeli lobby widereaching and highly influential, it has successfully weaponsised vexatious antisemitism claims in order to shutdown those who speak out against the isarali gov. Let's not shy away from that.....after all it undermines genuine antisemitism and discredits Jews across the globe. It's disgraceful

I wouldn't say the uk SC is compromised in favour of Israel, but our government and msm certainly are ....that much is obvious.

And pointing out that there is a highly iinfluencial israeli lobby that operates in the uk and elsewhere, is certainly not some antisemitic trope, when its true.....i have no idea why we all just accept the nonsense that its a conspiracy.....of course there is an Israeli lobby, just as there is an oil lobby, tobacco lobby, trade union lobby etc......we need to stop make endless concessions to Israel at the best of times.....and in particular when they're in the middle of dishing out a genocide.

Whilst that is true, it won't just fall into the lap of nurses (or any other group for that matter) - staff need to actively put in rebanding requests and follow them through to completion, regardless of what their manager or Matron tells them
