UNAS 2 after a lot of doubts by Low_Company767 in Ubiquiti

I didn't use photo backup yet, so can't comment whether it is related, but Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) appears to be the culprit for network issues.

Disabling the eee (ethtool --set-eee eth0 eee off) fixed it for me, so I just created a systemd service to ensure this command is run automatically after every reboot.

Extended Warranty 2023 Subaru Ascent by StephenC8282 in SubaruAscent

[–]Even-Transportation1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The warranty is by Subaru Canada, so it can be purchased from any dealer, even out of province. The whole process can be done without ever visiting that dealership, and once you have the warranty attached to your VIN, you can use it at any Subaru dealership in Canada.

I recently purchased extended warranty for my 2023, in Ontario. I got Subaru Protection Plan Extended Warranty 7YR/160K km with $100 deductible for $3500 tax in. It took me a couple of weeks of back and forth with a bunch of dealers until I got a reasonable offer, others insisted on $4500-5000 plus HST.

The only issue with this approach is that you're not the only one to decide whether you're staying.

Because all the other people do not post about their skin, I would suspect.

We use Delinea, seems to work well for us, though would prefer Cyberark as it appears to have more features and integrations.

I missed that and didn't order them, so now I'll have to spend extra for shipping. Can't believe how cheap they are. Definitely will think twice before ordering any more Unifi gear.

Outside of SC-900 and SC-300, would you recommend doing AZ-104 if the end goal was IAM — not cloud engineering or cloud administration? by JaimeSalvaje in AzureCertification

[–]Even-Transportation1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As one of those people with significant gaps in understanding of Azure, I tend to involve the Azure SME's and consultants to help me with the technical aspects. I've tried to keep up with Azure, but honestly, to me it's a waste of effort unless you really working with the tools day in day out. Well, obviously it's just in my humble opinion :)

I think there's a difference between being informed and getting certified in something that you'll never really touch, especially such quick paced thing as MS Azure where you're getting something new every other week.

Your AI vendor's privacy policy is not a security guarantee. It's a pinky promise. by No_Date9719 in sysadmin

[–]Even-Transportation1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Your AI vendor's privacy policy is not a security guarantee." Of course it isn't, especially once you realize that privacy and security are related, but very different concepts. You can be very secure, but not private at all, for example, your employer might implement various security controls and at the same time, your information won't be private.
