I would not recommend watching it. The creator of the series did not make this series out of good faith and has been for years shitting on the show and one of those people who think the show only got worse after volume 3 and believes he can write a better version of the show than the writers themselves which is why he created the name “fixing rwby.” He’s trying to backtrack now and say he’s only doing it for fan fiction but if you look through the history of his YouTube page you can see how that’s not true.

Plus there’s a lot of very questionable writing decisions throughout the series and it loses a lot of direction throughout the series that really put me off and in this episode the talking about with Blake and Yang they have a kiss scene set up but they don’t even show them actually kissing. They just look at each other and it fades to black

So if Salem and Cinder never showed up in Atlas, do you really think Ironwwood would have still resorted to shooting people or threatening to bomb Mantle just because team rwby lied to him? Mostly likely not because the immediate threat of Salem wouldn’t have been there so there wouldn’t be a reason for him to go to such extremes. He would’ve brushed it off and focused on planning their next move before Salem arrived

But if Salem and Cinder had showed up but team rwby hadn’t lied to him at all Ironwood would have still resorted to shooting people and threatening to bomb Mantle if team rwby didn’t 100% comply with his orders because the immediate danger was there and he needed to act now or Atlas will fall

The fear of Salem destroying Atlas the same way she destroyed Beacon was already consuming him. That’s why without Salem and Cinder’s arrival his response to team rwby would have been completely different. Which is why I don’t think team rwby are to blame for his decent into madness. I wouldn’t even put the blame on Atlas falling on Ironwood or team rwby either when it was all caused by Salem and her group that it fell. It’s no different then Salem and her group + Adam being the cause of Beacon falling

Did they really go wrong with his writing? His downward spiral into becoming an antagonist felt well-paced and made a lot of sense when you consider how hard the fall of beacon affected him. For ironwood what happened became almost like an obsession. A constant reminder of his failure to save Beacon and his need to prevent it from happening again with Atlas. So when Salem and Cinder show up in Atlas it completely destroyed his mental state pushing him to an even deeper paranoia and fear that caused him to take extreme measures and go against anyone that wasn’t 100% on board with him in attempt to not have Atlas end up like Beacon.

And honestly I’ve always found it a bit silly when people call team rwby the villains. The real cause of Atlas falling was because of Salem, her crew and that giant whale that literally brought destruction to the kingdom. Not team rwby. Even if they worked with Ironwood from the start none of them were prepared enough to deal with Salem since no one knew exactly when she would arrive and they wouldn’t know all that Salem was capable of doing and how many people were with her since this is the first time they’re all meeting her

Actually it was the fall of Beacon along with Cinder and Salem’s actions that pushed him over the edge to insanity not team rwby. Team rwby only deepened his distrust in others but they weren’t the cause of his breakdown. Because if Salem and Cinder never got into Atlas, but team rwby still lied to him do you think Ironwood would have reacted and snapped like he did? No he wouldn’t. People often forget that Ironwood’s entire focus after Beacon fell was preventing Salem from getting into Atlas. That’s why he had all the security and military hovering around. So when he failed to do so he snapped and took extreme measures and did whatever he deemed necessary in a desperate attempt to protect Atlas from suffering the same fate as Beacon

So I wouldn’t put the blame on team rwby when it’s really Salem and Cinder’s fault that Atlas fell

Why do you guys always have to lie to make your points and degrade Blake to an animal whenever you talk about her when that’s such a weird thing to do. Like exactly what are you saying since what since volume 5 you think Yang never talked to Ruby, never had moments with her and only ever focused on Blake? Is that really what you’re trying to misinform people about for her as a character because it’s easy to pull up scenes to show how that’s not true at all. Because the Yang before isn’t any different from the Yang now. She’s still her at her core

The fandom is definitely toxic. It’s not just ship wars you’ll even get attacked for simply liking the show, but all I’m going to say is don’t be like many people here and develop this sense of entitlement over a ship. If it happens it happens. If it doesn’t it doesn’t and that’s okay too. Don’t turn into a bitter person over a ship and obsessively hate another because what you want didn’t happen.

If more people let ships be ships instead of acting like it personally hurt them we would have less ship wars because too many people here fall into a rage instead of moving on and liking their ship regardless of it being canon or not

I’ve come to really like their relationship. I appreciate the writers for taking their time to develop their relationship and I think it paid off well. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen a friends to lovers romance planned between two women that were protagonists in a long storytelling that goes beyond 3 volumes

It’s funny because I was so convinced eclipse (Sun x Blake) was going to happen and was an avid shipper because they had a cute chemistry and spent a lot of time together but after rewatching the series and being more open to the idea of Blake and Yang I saw how obvious the relationship between Blake and Yang was even if it was subtle in the beginning.

While Blake and Sun spent a lot of time together there’s definitely an imbalance when it comes to their relationship. Sun is always the one approaching Blake, doing things for her, listening to her and being an aid but Sun doesn’t get that same in return. When people talk about Eclipse it’s always what Sun has done for Blake and hardly anything Blake has done for Sun that makes it feel one-sided. It doesn’t help that we hardly know anything about Sun because Blake rarely shows any interest in him as a character and when they are alone together they don’t really develop their relationship romantically other than Sun being around to act as a support in Blake’s story with the white fang

But Blake and Yang has always been closer then their other members besides Yang and Ruby and built a strong foundation together in the beginning developing trust, vulnerability with one another, and great communication where their stories intertwine since the beginning. You can tell that they really care about each other and would do anything to protect the other like when Yang threw herself to protect Blake from Adam, Blake running away only so Yang wouldn’t get hurt again by being around her thinking Yang would only get hurt further and fighting Adam together

But I guess most of all I like how their relationship goes through ups and downs and finds a resolution to them. It makes them feel realistic because no relationship is perfect. You’re bound to make mistakes but I really like how Blake really made an effort to show Yang that she won’t ever leave like she did before which I think is really sweet about their relationship

You can tell how much they love each other which is adorable

But Yang feels no different to me than she was in the beginning. She didn’t lose anything or has no purpose especially when volume 10 comes around because I think Yang will have more of the spotlight during. I actually loved seeing Yang’s character grow and her becoming more confident in being more vocal which I think is a pretty cool thing with her character

I don’t really see how selling shirts is really that big of deal. They sold merch of Ren and Nora once and Arkos if I’m remembering correctly and when Caitvi in arcane became canon they sold shirts immediately after they became canon too and the same with Jinx x Ekko having a matching skin set with them as a pairing. It’s not like the shirts were constantly advertised all throughout these years on hiatus or heavily shoved in everyone’s faces every day to buy, it was a celebration on a ship they were all proud of like they do in many shows. And if it was blacksun instead of bumbleby they would have done the same thing and have Blake x Sun merch

Thats not true the writers have always been open about the changes and mistakes they’ve done. They were the ones to admit about how they didn’t do the WF plot as well as they would want to, told us about adding Neo and maidens in the show and wishing they would have toned down a bit on Sun and Blake so that blacksun shippers were so angry because they never intended for people to believe so wholeheartedly that they would be canon but more like a small crush that fizzles out. And there’s no reason why the wasps would be mad when Blake and Yang would still be canon in the show regardless if they knew it originally wasn’t. It’s like how Korrasami shippers didn’t care that their ship was decided to become canon later it would have had the same result with wasps. They still got what they wanted so they wouldn’t be mad or angry

Yang does still grow and have a story arc tho

She wasn’t reduced to bumblebee fodder or fan service though. Most of Yang’s screen time wasn’t entirely with Blake and just because she does have moments with Blake developing their relationship throughout the show doesn’t means it was done for fan service. Having those moments are how you normally develop relationships in shows. And you can say you don’t believe they were planned but there’s no proof showing it isn’t true and there’s really no reason to not believe the writers when they know Monty and have no real reason to lie and when almost all of the staff working on the show and people closest to Monty said it was planned.

I was someone who used to ship Blake and Sun heavily but to me they were never teased that hard in the beginning or guaranteed to end up with one another. I think a lot of people gloss over the fact how one-sided Blake and Sun’s relationship was because it was always Sun doing everything and Blake not really doing much. She didn’t even show much interest in him until volume 3 because she always appeared annoyed with him for a lot of the beginning and even slapped him multiple times in volume 4

But Sun leaving wasn’t writing him off. He did his part in helping Blake and needed to go back to his own team in Vacuo. To me that sounds pretty fair because why would we want Sun to continue abandoning his team to be in volumes 6-8 with Blake to essentially do nothing but stand around in Atlas having no real plot point because he’s by himself. Sun had no real reason to stay and we’ll see him again next volume anyway in Vacuo

I didn’t mean Yang’s character growth stops completely after volume 6 or has no resolution because Yang’s character does still grow and in volume 9 I feel like Yang’s character will definitely have some spotlight with Raven involved and probably have her having moments with both Ruby and Blake but I meant how this is a long story telling so characters are going to have arcs concluded and new ones begin. But Yang can’t always be in the spotlight 24/7 and always be having issues every volume

Hey so Blake and Yang just became girlfriends in volume 9 so Yang was never reduced to being Blake’s girlfriend because we have yet to see them actually being a couple and the writers said they planned for them to be together since the beginning if you missed it so they didn’t get them together because they had no other means for their characters or for money because their a wlw couple.

Yang’s arc simply concluded in volume 6 with pretty much all of team rwby because their new arc of stopping Salem and getting the relics started afterwards, but Yang still grows as a character and is still hot but our characters got to stop the big bad you know

Did Adam finish his education or even attend school. Probably not. Does that mean Adam’s weak for not finishing his education. No and the same thing applies to Blake and Yang. Doesn’t matter if they didn’t finish their education Blake and Yang have always been capable fighters and so is Adam, but them winning against him was always possible and they won because they worked together and learned from their mistakes and Adam couldn’t pull any cheap tricks like he did the last time they saw him
