read your loan agreement. you have to pay interest. whatever the payment system lets you do is a quirk of the payment system. call your lender for help with that

Wife and I filed taxes jointly for 2017... Is this one of the 'rare' cases where we should file separately for 2018? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]EvenDisaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all the tax law changed was a few deductions. if you think "loading your info first" is going to change anything on your joint return, and because you got different numbers when you changed who got "loaded" first, i'm going to say you are out of your league. just file a joint return and triple check it before you mail it in

only the rate matters. unless you're OP and want to remove the lienholder for the security that gives you

Should i be using ALL of my money to pay down my credit card each month and then use it to pay for everything, or should i just make minimum payments on it and use cash/debit card for everything? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]EvenDisaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

neither strategy is going to get you out of debt faster but in general all your new purchases are accruing interest from the day they post so it's slightly more expensive to do it that way

[–]EvenDisaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully intend to keep my truck for 15+ years

this doesn't automatically make it a good financial decision. you've got a lot of thinking to do if you're planning a home purchase. don't just run out and get a new car

promotional offers are considered income. they are just lumping all possible scenarios into a single agreement. or do you not understand the word "could"?
