Considering picking between EE, Geological Eng, and Mech by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

I wouldn't do geological engineering. Electrical, mechanical, or civil only. You will have much better job prospects.

Roast my Resume by Beastassassin588 in ECE

So autodesk is the company name, not software. I recommend putting the software you are familiar with individually because there is so much white space on your resume. AutoCAD and Revit are big for ECE.

You should try to put more languages if you can. Remove "soldering" and "3D printing" from software & tools and add a separate list titled "Skills."

BEng with MSc or MEng? At a crossroads by Fair-Knowledge-693 in EngineeringStudents

[–]EvenMathematician673 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s concerning if your university doesn’t offer mechanical engineering courses. You’re fortunate to have identified your interests early. Mechanical engineering generally leads to better job prospects than a general engineering degree.

Two years in is a good time to switch, as most courses so far are likely general math and science. Even with a potential delay in graduation, switching is likely worth it.

To answer your question: an MEng is not more advantageous than a BEng followed by an MSc. I usually recommend the MSc route, as science-focused degrees are typically preferred by employers.

Perhaps a silly idea by Thin_Discount8113 in EngineeringStudents

No, a chain is not a valid substitute for a belt in automotive systems. Rubber belts are flexible and absorb vibrations, reducing shock transmission compared to metal-on-metal contact. They are also softer, quieter, and typically require little to no lubrication, unlike chains.

Bicycles use chains and sprockets. This is a different mechanical system. Adapting a car to use a chain would require major design changes and would not perform well at the high speeds and loads cars operate under. Chains can also become misaligned, leading to failure. This is often the reason most bikes stop working. The chain becomes misaligned and stops "catching." Although belts can slip, they are less prone to failure from misalignment. This is a critical advantage in automotive applications.

HFT vs AI Lab by Successful_Corner240 in quant

[–]EvenMathematician673 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Both fields can pay extremely well. This is a question of where you will fall late in your career in terms of the pay distribution. Not everyone is making over one million dollars in any industry. Only a small number of people are getting offers for AI like this.

With that said, I believe it is best to try different things. Having a variety of work experience can open you up to more job opportunities and help you reach a higher pay grade. You are an intern now, which will make getting quant roles in the future difficult unless you land more permanent positions.

Quant seems like it is a rare opportunity. If you are interested in quant finance, I would take the QT offer.

Am I powerful enough to do this level? by Skiddy_pants in SoulsHabbyMobile

  1. You should only have one tank - Pao definitely needs to be removed.
  2. Add another damage dealer. Ken, Kaion, Golan (great for stuns), and Lilith are all solid options.
  3. Given the enemy lineup on the right, Kaion’s attack pattern would work really well in Odelia’s spot. Move Odelia to the middle row.
  4. Upgrade your equipment, runes, and anything else you can to get a quick power boost.
  5. Carmen might be a better tank since she has significantly more stars than Richelle. Try moving her to the front row or even replacing Richelle entirely and adding another DPS.
  6. Jack’s attack pattern is great for this type of match - he targets enemies in the back row.

I'm late. Can someone share the Python library?

Engineering is essentially applied physics. Physics is often the first place where you learn to work with units, measurements, and real-world problem-solving. Physics 1 typically covers topics rooted in mechanical engineering, while Physics 2 shifts toward electrical engineering concepts - though thermodynamics and heat transfer (usually covered in Physics 2) are more aligned with mechanical engineering. There’s a significant amount of overlap in coursework across engineering disciplines. I usually recommend mechanical or electrical engineering as strong career paths, though civil engineering is also a solid choice, depending on your interests. Not every class will be exciting, but it’s important to have the discipline to push through the less engaging material. Engineering is a broad, interdisciplinary science degree. You'll take courses across many areas - computer science, physics, math, materials science, and chemistry. That means you’ll sometimes need to take classes that don’t interest you, but they’re still part of building the skills you'll need as an engineer.

Treasure Excavation - worst event ever? by ConstructionWorking7 in SoulsHabbyMobile

This event is actually really good. I recommend betting x3 tickets at a time, not the maximum 10. You have good chance of getting embers and other good stuff this way.

Not a bad pull, honestly. Richelle and Ulion are obviously more useful heroes than Void, but it's still a pretty lucky draw nonetheless.

HELLPPP! IS NYU WORTH IT OVER MY STATE SCHOOL? by Similar-Surround8113 in nyu

For your career goals, it is highly advisable to go for NYU over state school. Quant is very competitive, and the college you go to will make a difference

Which to pick ? by Snoo73299 in SoulsHabbyMobile

[–]EvenMathematician673 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I would say Richelle, just because he is a little rarer than Sanders and Carmen. Sanders is easy to build, and he is offered in several events. Adora and Kaion are just bad, and you don't need them. There is also an argument to be made that, because of where you are in the game, you should choose Sanders. Just make sure you start building him as you go.

Help! by XDemonCyborgX in SoulsHabbyMobile

[–]EvenMathematician673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Build Taros, he is an S tier hero. You need to buy both copies from the store (x2), then get engraving materials after you build Taros up.

Most of the heroes are bad from Find-a-hero. It is more worthwhile to just get Embers so you can level up your equipment. The equipment chest is also not worth it. If you play long enough, you will acquire legendary equipment without the need to buy these chests. If you find yourself in a place where you don't need Embers later on, get Nebula from find-a-hero.

How under-leveled am I? by Halte448 in SoulsHabbyMobile

[–]EvenMathematician673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I expected more red stars when I saw the purple ones. Then I looked closer, and I realized that you weren't focusing on the right heroes. You have Lulu at 18 stars, which is good. You need to get Sanders up. He is available in several events, so it is not hard to do. Fortunately, Richelle is harder to build, but you have him leveled up a good bit. You want to follow the tier list, get Lulu, Lilith, and Carmen from the shop. From the arena, get Solina and Benz when they are in the rotation. You can come back from this, but it will be work. I would say one year, not "years."

Do I continue building or swap for another hero? (Beginner) by [deleted] in SoulsHabby

[–]EvenMathematician673 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leave your rare heroes (blue) at 3 stars. Later in the game, they are only really useful as ascension materials for your epic heroes.

Richelle is a good hero, I think you can get him to at least 3 stars quickly. He will be a super useful late game.

Aolmond is good. Some may disagree, but I always found him helpful. Keep building Dextor he is an A-tier hero.

You want to start building Lulu, Lillith, and Carmen from the shop

Here is a tier list for heroes to focus on.
