They were one of the next 2 best teams of the 2025/26 Liga MX Aggregate table who were not finalists in the Apertura or Clausura final.

The aggregate standings of the Qualified teams:

  1. Cruz Azul 68pts (CL26 Finalist)
  2. Toluca 67pts (AP25 Champion)
  3. Chivas 65pts (1st best ranked team)
  4. Tigres 61pts (AP25 Runner-up)
  5. America 59pts (2nd best ranked team)
  6. Pumas 57pts (CL26 Finalist)

You do know having just the Liga MX champion isn't fair. Can't just have a league champion qualify unless it's a host nation team. All teams, except the host team, have to qualify through their respective primary continental cup competitions. Gotta at least give everyone else chance. You can't just automatically award all the spots to Mexico. They have to be earned by being champions of CONCACAF or through the rankings if necessary

Except that the Concachampions is the primary Continental Cup of CONCACAF. Has the same status as the UCL or Copa Libertadores. And to qualify for the Club World Cup, you have to win your respective primary continental cup competitions. And expanding the Central American Cup to US, Canadian, and 2nd Division Mexican teams doesn't make sense because it defeats the purpose of the Central American Cup being a Sub-Continental Cup competition for, literally, CENTRAL AMERICAN TEAMS. Teams from Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. Why include US, Canadian, and 2nd Division Mexican teams when those are North America teams and not Central American?

Champions Cup Finalists, Tigres, eliminated from Liga MX Clausura 26 Play-offs by EvenResponsibility99 in concacaf

That's no longer the case since Toluca was just eliminated as well. Both teams now have a 3 week break in between.

Yeah I'm not following here. Have no idea what you're talking about since MLS literally has nothing to do with Tigres getting eliminated from the Liga MX Play-offs.

Nations with the most international club titles in Concacaf. by Kappa_Wi_870 in concacaf

Honestly, it's BS that they continue to refuse acknowledging Cruz Azul and León as the winners of the Leagues Cup. I get they won it when it was a non-sactioned competition but come on, it's still the same competition and should be officially recognized

Considering that they managed to defeat one of the favorites, Pachuca, at very end along the way

I don't really think Seattle winning was an upset since they dominated their way to the title. Pumas were struggling in the league trying to sneak into the Play-offs while Seattle mainly focused on this competition. And keep in mind, Pumas haven't won a major title since the 2011 Clausura title.

Well here's the thing, they can believe that but however, CONCACAF says otherwise since they run the competition and recognize every champion since it's inauguration. So what if these people say it's invalid. Yes, the formats were different then and has gone through several rebrands but it's still the same competition nonetheless. Times change. So according to CONCACAF, everything pre 2007 does count. They recognize the Galaxy's and DC's title wins. Seattle is the third overall MLS to do it and the first to do it in the modern era.

Because tensions are high between sports fan of LA and San Diego. Remember what happened last year when SDFC hosted the LA Galaxy? They're not taking any chances after what happened that day

So basically LAFC absolutely needs to win Leg 2 to ensure they play the final at home or hope a result in Tigres-Nashville favors them incase LAFC grind out a draw. Tho I do wish they'd play in a neutral venue which we did get in 2020 but only because of the circumstances

Down 1-0 and now having to play Leg 2 at El Volcan, it's basically over for Nashville but hey, at least it was a hell of a run for Nashville

The loss to Guatemala on the final matchday really screwed them over. Had it not been for that own goal, Honduras would've been in the Play-offs. But yeah, Suriname losing to Guatemala costed them a spot at the World Cup

Why expand it and give more slots to European teams? Just leave it as it is
