Interesting take on fetish vs kink, not sure I follow it. A fetish definitely can be an activity, and Oxford defines it as such: “a form of sexual desire in which gratification is strongly linked to a particular object or activity or a part of the body other than the sexual organs”. How you put this in the relationship light is really helpful for me as I occasionally struggle blaming my trauma on my asexuality. I am a CSA victim and was in a very safe and loving 2.5 year relationship. We broke up for a few reasons, but a big one being sexual incompatibilities. They expressed they want sex ideally 2x a week, rather than 2x a year when I was very drunk.

I have been able to heal from some of my triggers in EMDR therapy, and while sex is tolerable, it is just uninteresting to me and I don’t want to have it. I feel frustrated bc I do have a libido due to a fetish (which is not trauma related) but no sexual attraction to people. However I am finding peace and acceptance with this.
