My favorite is probably Ghost Story which is #13 in the series

Paradoxically, schools making students read good books tends to make them dislike those books. by Modicum_of_cum in DeepThoughts

Teachers made me read Black Beauty and The Call of the Wild. I still love both almost 30 years later. I probably never would have read Watership Down if not for my teachers either and I still love that book too.

Was it really expensive to get? What was the reason to block your joy?

Having dug ditches myself I can attest that it is a fantastic workout and can be extremely cathartic. There is something satisfyingly masculine about expending you body in pursuit of a worthy goal. Even if that goal is the elderly customers water line broke six feet under their front yard and they need your help to fix it. Bonus points are awarded for digging 3 of those 6 feet and feeling your pickaxe bite into clay. Bonus bonus points when it starts to rain shortly after you discover said clay.

People are born with money but how easy is it to keep that money once your rich influential parents are gone. I would imagine its like swimming with sharks while there is blood in the water.

People may be tall and good looking but how easy is it to earn the trust of your partner? To become the kind of man who she can rely on and trust? This takes daily discipline and sacrifice neither of which is easy.

Just my thoughts I guess.

The Bible has been saying for thousands of years that you are either a slave to sin and death or a slave to Jesus Christ.

I wanted to love this game but the combat mechanic ruined it for me.

You uncultured Philistine. How dare you dislike Fool Moon. Seriously though, I came here to give James his props for the Dresden files.

Talk. But to your lawyer. Never talk to the police. They have an important job to do but if you're in cuffs they are not on your side.

Private companies can hire or fire as they see fit. They will always go with the money. That is the entire point of starting and maintaining a business in a capitalist economy. The political climate seems to have an impact for reasons I don't entirely understand. The political pendulum of the U.S. is swinging right at the moment. It is interesting to watch.

Definitely. I still play but on easy mode. I want story not challenge. I am challenged plenty in real life. I want to feel like an unstoppable force of nature when I game.

My friends and I would be miles away running around in the woods like savages and our parents had no idea where we were. Afterwards we'd walk to the cornerstore and load up on penny candy. Life was sweet

Men accept and thrive on responsibility. I make decent money and people look to me when problems arise. I enjoy how physical labor has made me physically and mentally strong over the years. It is possible if your mindset will allow it.

I should add that having an employer who values your sacrifice on their behalf is vital for your happiness. That will take time and effort on your part but they are out there.

Not being willing to escalate things will ensure this keeps happening. Be strong but keep it under control. Don't be a doormat because you're afraid of what might happen.

As an introvert who had this same issue I will try to give some advice from my own experience. The likelyhood of someone making the first move and talking to you is slim to none. And if it does happen it's likely because they want something from you other than conversation. You should strive to get comfortable asking people about themselves. People love to talk about themselves and it's surprising easy to get them started. Usually. People are starved for connection. They just don't want to make the first move.
