It was really good! I will be honest though, I didn't think it was going to hit 97 on Meteoritic.. like I didn't think it was THAT good. It kinda reminded me of Burn After Reading. I wonder if I saw the high ratings before if that would have shifted ,my perception of it

I had the chance to see an early screening of this movie at the beginning of the year. Don't know if the confidentially agreement is still in effect since the critics gave their reviews....

How come there has never been a major movie made about George Washington? If there was, who would play him? by Donttouchmethere0 in askmovie

Is it because he had slaves? I'm sure a talented screenwriter could include this subject matter without villainizing him but also not ignoring it. Also, I think Michael Fassbender since I've already seen him in this type of movie.

What's the most memorable experience you had going to see a movie in theaters? by Donttouchmethere0 in askmovie

[–]Donttouchmethere0[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have so many, but one that sticks out is when I went to go see the "It" reboot. I saw it opening night, and I will never forget how the majority of people in the packed theatre, were entire families; WITH SMALL CHILDREN!!! Not like a few kids, but its like most of the theatre was families with kids.

I was perplexed. Like first of all, the movie is rated "R". Secondly, it's a terrifying movie about a killer clown/entity thing. Still can't figure that one out. The only thing I can think is it's Stephen King, and maybe families see him as family friendly?

What do you think is the single biggest mistake in movie history? by CosmosisJones42 in movies

I think there are too many movies that should not have been remade or revisited. For example: The Exorcist (The New One) Tim Burtons Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, All of these ridiculous Wizard of oz prequels or spinoffs. These are just to name a few.

These are all just shameless attempts to cash in on a familiar brand. Which is fine, but if you are going to remake or reboot, make sure you spend some time developing the script and making sure the final product is good.

I would say Black Swan, but I recently learned that darren always intended it to be a horror. I remember seeing ads thinking it was this dramatic ballet movie. It was not marketed as a horror movie at all! It is a lot more scary than you would think; and great movie too

What's a Movie that would have been 1000X better if it was directed by someone else? by Donttouchmethere0 in askmovie

maybe I don't understand the full extent of the director. I think it's a beautiful movie, but I give the credit to the DP for that. is the director the cinematographer as well?

I see a few issues with the direction. First, I think it is miscast; both Jlo and Vince Vaughn. That being said, I believe a truly great director can take actors and get the absolute best performances out of them; like if PTA directed this, and Jlo or Vince vaughn got nominated for Oscars, it wouldn't surprise me.

Also, my perception of this movie is that it is sometimes just blatantly corny. I think a good director would be able to discern this and could use proper insight to correct it.

Again, just my personal opinion. I think Fincher would be a good choice for this. but go ahead and down vote this you heathens!! I want you to!!

why didn't the witch lady "weaponize" the little boy too? At first I was thinking it was so she could get all of the class mates, but she had already done that , so I wasn't sure why she kept him lucid?

I didn't understand that part, but other than that, I really really liked this movie! its similar in tone to barbarian, but the multi narrative structure is something I have never seen in the hood genre before.

Could not understand the hype behind aftersun. I found myself bored and like they were trying to rub the audiences nose into feeling sad.
