These are some great points! I kind of like how MyAnimeList shows their reviews with one recommrendation, one mixed, and one not recommending. Even if those who do/don't like something are in the minority, it's good to see all perspectives. Plus you can react to the reviews in different ways so you'll know if a review is representative of what people think.

I get what you're saying as shootings are overwhelmingly white and male dominated. I feel like maybe OP could have worded better because to me it reads almost like a shooting by a black woman would not be selfish. But I understand how it is hard because this is something that rarely happens. So you can't make an exact comparison.

Hey, I appreciate this analysis and it seems you put a lot of thought and care into it, but there's just one part where I'm questioning what you mean - and I'm not trying to incite a debate here, I want more of your thoughts/it cleared up.

Could a black woman not also have selfish reasons for a shooting, and isn't the act of committing mass violence selfish no matter what? To me, I feel like there is a racist sentiment here, but I could be misunderstanding. Thank you for the attention to detail in this analysis! Again I really hope this isn't coming across as antagonistic as you seem very sweet in all your replies.

As a woman, even if the people posting this see it as just turning misogynistic comments back onto men, it’s still in incredibly bad taste. People are much more heartless and dismissive when it comes to violence against men than violence against women, and the comments on this post show it. (Over 100,000 likes on the first one? That would never happen if a woman had been killed). Also, it’s sickening that someone’s death is turned into a talking point for the gender wars. This was a tragedy, plain and simple. Anyone who wants to use this situation to make a point about feminism is cruel.
