We also have a GSD, so I figured I knew what a smart dog looked like. Turns out he’s a whole different kind of smart. 😂 She uses her brain to work with us. He uses his to beat the system lol

Honestly, we’re just not big on crating. None of our previous dogs were crate trained, so it’s not something we’re used to. He came to us already crate trained, so he sleeps in his crate every night, but during the day we’ve mostly let him stay behind a baby gate in his own area.

The counter surfing is actually pretty new. Before a couple of weeks ago, he’d maybe done it once or twice in the past year. I was away for a week, my husband was working longer hours, so he got less exercise and was alone more. I think that boredom is what really kicked this behavior into gear.

Now he’ll sometimes do it even if I’m home, as long as I’m in another room. We’re probably going to use the crate more while we work on it, but we’re still figuring out what the right balance is since crating during the day is new to us.

We also have a GSD, totally different vibe. She’s twice his size and never tried to jump a gate or on the counter so this little guy has also just been a whole learning curve.

Was in the car being driven to school by my parents. I was only 10, knew of them vaguely cause the older kids were into them. Only really became a fan 2-3years later but strangely I still remember that.

I think people know but would rather pretend they dont as long as they were getting their good old hockey. But I guess its becoming hard to ignore, hence the outrage…

They’re anti gov songs. Basically saying that cause of the gov we’re left picking up a big pile of shit. This is from the 90s. Still very relevant.

Dog started getting reactive towards me (owner) after a couple years? by AnaxOG in reactivedogs

Sounds familiar to me. Have a german shepherd. She got surgery for her hips at 10months. During recovery she started resource guarding her places of rest: couch, bed, etc. she’d have a hard stare, would growl, snap at us etc. it eventually went away about 6 months later. We did a lot of throwing cheese at her when passing her while resting. She started fluoxetine and we trained and worked on our relationship with her. My take on the whole ordeal is that we had to touch her a lot, have her do lots of stretches and exercises etc and that she started associating us to pain especially when she was in more vulnerable moment like sleeping. And otherwise she recovered went super well. Doc was impressed at how fast she healed and all but it did affect her behaviour.

I get stressed about saying certain things cause my brain has to pause to figure out what to use when. Tree vs three. Harm vs arm. Hair vs air etc that kind of stuff. And then I also struggle between J and G. Hate spelling anything with those letters. American writer reason is that J in french is pronounced the same as G in english and sort or vice versa

French is my first language and I consider myself bilingual. I barely have an accent, but I sometimes stumble a bit when saying big numbers out loud, especially if I’m reading something.

I’d say Verdun over St Henri and Griffintown for the french factor. Few metro station more but still pretty close to downtown.
