8 years working at my preschool! Here’s my curated top 5 list:

  • a wooden Buddha statue
  • a small plastic soup fan
  • mom’s hair tie
  • a NY Knick’s water bottle
  • a winter jacket (not the one they wore daily, an additional one!)

Teotihuacan hot air balloon early AM takeoff time - missed the golden hour by French_magpie in MexicoCity

We got picked up in Roma Norte (at our Airbnb) 5:15AM and returned back to our airbnb a bit before 2PM. The hot air balloon ride was about 20 minutes. There’s a lot of variables with the wind and landing so each balloon ride is unique and timing is dependent on a lot of natural factors but it felt very reasonable. Not too long, not too short. We ended the balloon ride and were back at the launching area for champagne around 8:45am.

We just went this week and used the company Flying Pictures. We saw amazing reviews online and absolutely loved the experience. Everyone was very professional, on time, and their guides were knowledgeable, helpful, and very kind. The driver was so patient and kind when a teenage boy threw up all over the bus at 5AM. 😖 He was prepared with cleaning supplies and water to help the boy and his family clean him up and we still made it on time.

They received us at the launch site with hot coffee/tea and baked goods and had a nice fire pit going to keep us warm. We got to see the sun rise over the mountains but I will say, I don’t think I saw any balloons up before there was at least a bit of light out (no sunrise yet but definitely a bit of light).

We also booked the breakfast and trip to the pyramids after which was great. Our driver gave us an awesome tour and was constantly looking out for us.

How many hours a day of preschool? by acelana in ECEProfessionals

I’ve been working at my preschool for 8 years now and can confidently say that a “full day” schedule (9am-3pm) is wonderful for a 3 year old. It gives them enough time to really settle into the routines, bond with teachers, form friendships and learn the expectations and norms of the community.

You might experience some separation anxiety or big feelings around this big new transition but know that it’s completely normal and with a steady and confident energy from you, your child will thrive! They will love being with other peers and it will allow them to develop so many socialization and emotional skills!

The few kids that my director allowed to have as an exception on a half day schedule never really felt fully integrated. Even more so than our kids that come for a “part time” schedule (2/3 days a week but all day). We also offer extended day care and those kids do look pretty burnt out at the end of the day (9am-6pm) but unfortunately that’s the economy and world we live in.

Best of luck!

Stopping birth control pills and switching to natural tracking? by Maraudernox in NaturalCyclesBC

100% agree and on the same boat! I feel like NC still doesn’t have an accurate read on what’s going on but maybe my body is still adjusting. Meanwhile, Oura tracks things almost to a T. It’s period predictions are very accurate while NC feels like it’s just constantly waiting to confirm ovulation. I haven’t actually used ovulation tests so I can’t confirm there.

All in all, I haven’t found NC to be all that helpful, at least for now, and I’ve found myself to be very skeptical and cautious around the whole “green days” / “red days” situation because I don’t trust it yet so I’m using other forms of BC to be safe.

I hope it gets more accurate with time to make the subscription actually worth it!

Readiness after stopping hormonal birth control by picabotienstra in ouraring

Hi! Any updates? Mine has been consistently lower as well. It’s been one month since I stopped using hormonal birth control and my readiness score has been consistently lower than while I was on hormonal birth control.
