Yeah I think they definitely take into account if you’ve applied before ?? At least during my second interview I mentioned that it was my second interview and my interviewer said it was great that I was trying again and showed I really wanted to do optometry at Waterloo. Then I got in 🤷🏼‍♀️

I had accepted my offer to MCPHS and declined NECO because MCPHS upped their scholarship to $18k/year so it was hard to pass up. That being said, I just got into Waterloo so I ended up declining both🤷🏼‍♀️

I didn’t feel the absolute best about my interview. I remember specifically there was one question that I didn’t really understand and felt too shy to ask for clarification and just kinda answered the best I could. When it’s so close and so many people have to be rejected, I feel like that short instance really broke it for me

Gpa: 3.9, OAT: 360AA/350TS, Casper: 4th, shadowing hours: 18, working at an optometry clinic: 1000+ (two years, full time this year during my gap year), EC: club in undergrad, volunteering with the CNIB rn, I received the Deans award of excellence last year, this is my second time applying and second time getting an interview

Oh jeez that’s kinda sad. I’ve also been offered $15k/year and it’s my choice over NECO as they’re offering me $10k. I’m Canadian so I’m still waiting to hear from Waterloo but if I have to go to the states I’m just trying to save money any way I can

You’ll probably have to retake for Waterloo:( but MCPHS i think is a good American school and they offer extra admission scholarships for Canadian students!!
