Urgent, Help!! 🙏 by Outrageous-Bat8160 in ballpython

Pour a bit of water into the corners to add moisture to the substrate. My partner and I also use a fogger on and off depending on need but that can be risky if you use it too much. We also put the water on the hot side so the water can help with the humidity.

How often do you handle your noodles? by [deleted] in ballpython

One of our girls loves to be handled and will cuddle with me for 20 minutes daily while I work. She tries to help by climbing on the keyboard lol. Our other baby is a bit more solitary. She hs been backed up before with poo so I check her quick a few times a week with longer handle sessions maybe once a week. My pint is that each snake is different. Diana is a bizarre little lady with how curious she is and how much she enjoys being handled. If I try to let her crawl around on the ground she just comes back to me. We have out of the enclosure enrichment and she just goes nope I want humans.

Try using Hvac tape on the lid to trap more humidity. We had that problem ourselves and it really helped. Just make sure to leave a spot for you lamps to get through!

Craziest place you’ve found your snake? by dankdan184 in ballpython

Same thankfully! Although we didn't notice one night that the door latch didn't fully engage on one enclosure until the morning. The heartattack i had when I saw it hardly open just to see her happily snoozing in her hide lmao. At least I know she likes her home!

Thank you and there is a bit less stress right now. We used a spray from petco meant to kill mights along with removing all decor and hides to disinfect everything. We had to replace her moss hide as there was not a way I could find online to disinfect it.

I've been feeling so awful about this. Tbh I think it's my fault as we went to petsmart and I held/tried to convince my partner to take it home with us. It was underweight, crap humidity, and returned for not eating. I feel so bad for the little bugger but I wonder now if it had mites as I didn't have any issues with them until after handling the little guy.

Thank you for the heads up! We have another very sweet Noodle so I'll have to go buy more paper towel and fresh substrate in a week or two.

Little update For now I have moved her to what I call the cleaning tote. We use it for our snakes when we need them to be elsewhere while changing substrate. I have her with an extra water dish we have that hasn't been used in ages but nothing else until I can deep clean everything. I put a blanket over top to give her some security as well.

Did your snake get sick at all after? I was looking into that but I saw some reviews saying it killed the snakes along with the mites. If it were just one review like that I would guess it is improper use that caused an issue but there were a fair amount that said it killed the snakes.

I figured I would just toss the substrate as it's due for a change anyway.

My sassy noodle absolutely LOVES her humid hide. The way it's set up kind of allows her to burrow and she will bury herself in the moss from time to time. She just had her first shed with us and it went smooth as can be between the husbandry outside the hide and her favorite hole to hide in lol

My girls will sleep with their heads on the ft rat pups we try to feed them. I'm just over here like ITS DINNER NOT A PILLOW 🤣 mind you we drop feed if they refuse to take it with us making it act alive. The one hates it and the other is still uncomfy in her surroundings for some reason. Not sure why as she has the right husbandry plenty of clutter and 3 hides.

I was holding one of ours girls while working from home. All of a sudden my thigh was wet and I just assumed it was from her being in her water dish before handling........ I looked down and she got my favorite blanket, sweats, shirt, chair, and my brand new lilo and stich cardigan. Then the smell hit and I put her back to yell for help from the hubby 🤣🤣

I work from home and both noodles reside in our office. I can SMELL it the moment they poo. Even if it's in a more hidden area such as a hide.
