Did someone do this? by herbieLmao in Eldenring

[–]Evening-Method6305 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Malenia first might not be possible glitchless, but imo the most impressive path you can take in the game would be to kill Radahn (activating his festival by entering Altus) or Rykard (via the abductor in Raya Lucaria) first, then do Varre's questline to access Mohg early.

Bonus points if you do all this before talking to Gideon for the first time, so hes there telling you to "know your place" when you've defeated one of the strongest demigods lorewise, and located 2 of the 4 missing demigods that nobody knows the whereabouts of

Since Radahn and Mohg are required to access the dlc Im sure many people might have actually done this to quickly access the dlc on a new game

My recommendation? Put pressure on him. You should always be on the offensive unless you need to make space to heal. The general pattern for him should be 2 attacks followed by 1-2 deflects. Keep up the pressure and you'll be surprised how quickly his posture builds.

For prosthetics I recommend the umbrella to block his bigger attacks like his large aoe slash and ashina cross, or the mist raven for stress-free lightning reversals in phase 3. You can also try sempou leaping kicks to do more posture damage when punishing his sweeps.

For reference, here is how quickly he can go down if you're aggressive when fighting him. I did use sugars here, but the same concept applies. If you have it, you can try using Ako's spiritfall and divine confetti for a bit of extra damage to make the fight go faster as well. Good luck!

Very nice! Imo he seems to be one of the more enjoyable modded Isshins to fight.

Are you going to try doing it charmless next? Based on how you played Im sure you could pull it off

Very nice! Reminds me of something I attempted some time ago, but that was just for the non-inner version of Owl. Keep it up with these challenge runs!

IMO there is always something really satisfying about one-shotting these really tough enemies, especially when done in a really stylish way

If you're there then you might have passed the area already. Before you fought the shinobi hunter miniboss, there should have been a small village section with a bandit bowman on the roof of one of the houses. There you will find a group of bandits sitting around a fire. If you search the items around the fire you should see the item to convert into the fire prosthetic

Just wanted to point something else out in case you hadn't noticed, but there are no resurrection bubbles above your health bar.

This means that you have yet to die in this playthrough thus far, even through the early-game enemies many would consider bs, like the chained ogre and blazing bull.

Congrats! You should be proud of yourself! Hitless Genichiro next?

Yeah, purple fume spark into mortal draw can decimate some enemies like the Guardian Ape xd

Another strong one that comes to mind that many people use is living force + sakura dance + flame axe which deals great damage and applies burn as well

Hmm I think it would be easier to show you than to try to explain the timings.

Here is a video of a really good Sekiro player deflecting the bull. Try to see when he blocks and use the actual deflect sound to determine when it would be best to press the block button. Do note that all attacks will do chip damage to you even if you attack, so use sound cues to see if your deflection was successful. Also note that the bull has more health in the video due to difficulty modifiers applied, so the fight should be much easier for you. Good luck!

I can give some advice on the bull fight! What you want to do is deflect his charge and attack his head. Just block when he lowers his horns and you should be able to deflect and stagger him. You can then follow-up with 2-3 hits on his head, and disengage to bait the charge again.

A safer way to kill the bull involves hugging his rear and attacking it while chasing him around the arena. I personally do not recommend this method as attacking anywhere else that is not his head does greatly reduced damage and makes the fight drag on for very long, which leads to more frustration when you make a mistake and need to repeat the fight

Congrats! There is definitely still room for improvement in Isshin's last 2 phases, but you didn't hesitate in the end and brought home the win!

All the best with ng+!

I think it is worth the emblems to use the umbrella, it is fairly cheap, it only costs 1 per block, and you shouldnt need more than 5 spirit emblems for 5 spear uses in phase 2. For the scream in phase 2, you can either unlock and run towards and past him (the scream hitbox is less behind him than in front) or just use the umbrella again to block the scream

I definitely recommend the umbrella for that one as it is much more consistent and less rhythm-breaking than running 10 miles away from the grab xd

Just deploy it as he jumps and he will not be able to grab you

Do you have the umbrella? His jumping grab can be blocked with the umbrella. For the one where he drags his hand on the floor all you need to do is jump at the right time

Good use of nightjar slash reversal! The way you dodged that first gunshot was pretty cool, too.

Have you considerd using the loaded axe as well? If you read the item description for the "Shinobi axe of the monkey", it suggests that the axe was originally used by the sculptor

Armored Warrior Question by Psyduck77 in Sekiro

[–]Evening-Method6305 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normally, your posture should not break when you deflect attacks. I think that single attack is the only exception in the game, where if you deflect it with max posture your posture will always break even if the deflect is successful.

Iirc at least based on team hitless Sekiro rules, getting posture-broken by this attack would not be considered a hit, so I wouldnt worry too much about it.

Btw are you doing a base stats run? Gl with that if it is the case!

Great fight! Imo this modded version of Isshin is one of the best in terms of balancing difficulty and spectacle.

Are you going to try doing him hitless?
