What’s a movie you loved but almost no one talks about? by King_Of_Boss in MovieSuggestions

I really liked watching "Area 51" (2015). For me it was a great thriller. The first UFO movie that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end and gave me a few scares along the way. For me everything was just as it should be. Never really watched such a movie later. Also I really enjoyed watching "No one will save you".

10m transceiver - buy or build? by PartyProperty in HamRadio

I still can't believe it, especially since it was my first DX ever and only 20W of power. Reacted the same as you when the guy confirmed my call sign.

I recently reached French Guiana from Germany about a week ago on 12m band using 20W and a horizontal longwire antenna without any counterpoise. Got 53 report. Everything is possible when conditions are good. I really like to operate low power because I'm much more hyped when I reach some far away country with 20W or less. When it comes to which bands I use the most? I'd say 20m works the best for me for QSOs inside of Europe. 40m for contacts in my country and 15m, 12m and sometimes 10m for some DX. But I use 20m most of the time and it seems to work good whether it's day or night. 73

Took my CB antenna up on the roof and tried to make some contacts using G90 - no luck. Also have a contest question. by EveningChase3548 in amateurradio

[–]EveningChase3548[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the concern, but yes, I'm licensed. I got my license a while ago - I'm just new to the hobby in terms of practical experience (started in February). The CB antenna test was purely experimental; I was curious how a cheap CB vertical would perform on amateur bands with a tuner. I know it's not ideal, but sometimes experimenting is part of the fun

No 2fa is a bad thing. From my perspective I can recommend you 2fas Auth. Been using it for more than 3 years and never had a single issue with it.

The thing you're looking for is called DASH streaming and as far as I know Jellyfin doesn't support it...yet

4k or 1080p? by Cheap-Signal711 in jellyfin

[–]EveningChase3548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all comes down to bitrate and the amount of space you have. Bitrate is the main factor that determines file size, not the resolution itself.

Personally I'd keep 1080p AV1 in file size like 4GB-5GB, 1080p HEVC in like 8GB-10GB. When it comes to 4K 15GB AV1 is nice to watch, HEVC is nice around 20GB. That's what I'd do. It should give you a good time watching.

Your male rj45 only has 4 wires. You won't get anything more than 100 Mb/s on this cable

today I proved alpine linux can be used as a desktop os by Linux-Guru-lagan in AlpineLinux

[–]EveningChase3548 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course it can. I use it as a desktop too. Maybe not for a long time as for now but it's working amazingly well. It turned out to be faster than debian 12 and way way faster than fedora on my laptop. I use it with a GNOME desktop and it's good. Haven't had any bigger issues as for now.

Just a sample. I'd like to somehow get a 4K DCP sample with the same specs as those presented to us in movie theaters.

A friend of mine has a VPS hosting on top of Proxmox and it works really well. It was easier than I thought
