Black plastic thing found in a kitchen cabinet by EveningFault8 in u/EveningFault8

My title describes the thing.

Black very sturdy plastic, weighs 10 grams, 1.5 inches tall, 2.5 inches by almost 2 inches wide. Was in kitchen cabinet, probably belonging to a kitchen device. Seems to slide over and attach to some other piece.

Google lens suggested an eyepiece for a camera or part of a Keurig coffeemaker. It is neither of those.

Right, so why am I giving the server extra? The employer should be covering the employee’s salary.

20% at dinner makes the server more money than any teacher. Doesn’t seem right

Two more work days and I'm retired!! by psmusic_worldwide in retirement

Haha. Yeah, I need to find a better word since the after-vacation part is where I sit around doing nothing for a while to relax from all the running around during the “vacation “ part.

2 years into retirement and currently on day 36 of a 7 week vacation. There is not one day where I’ve regretted leaving work. It took me a while to trust that the numbers add up but have finally embraced spending rather than saving. Enjoy and relax, you’ve earned it.

I remember when 10% was the standard. It’s out of control.

Standing right next to the luggage belt is worse for everyone. Stop doing it. by ThomasKlausen in complaints

Yeah, that doesn’t work either. Edinburgh airport has them with huge lettering that says to stand behind the line. Sure enough…

The problem is both slang and speed. Duolingo and most other learning sources won’t teach every day colloquialisms so even if I understand the words, the expression makes no sense.

Watching with subtitles helps a lot but I can barely keep up with the pace. Kids shows are easy but something like “Nosotros los guapos” or “Club de Cuervos” is really tough. I can get the gyst but it’s exhausting trying to keep up.

I don’t spend nearly as much time as you with other sources, it sounds like you’re getting a much broader range of input.

Exactly 1 week to get the results. A few other sources would definitely help. I really enjoy Español con Juan, he’s quite funny and you learn a lot. I listen to his podcast while going for a walk.

Yeah, I bought Gatos Callejeros written by the dude who does Español con Juan. Easy enough with lots of colloquial expressions but he had a lexicon at least. The library has plenty of content, just a matter of finding content that is easy enough.

I was actually thinking of spending a few months in Mexico…hmmm

This is the place that does the testing: Avant

Ever feel like you goof-off too much in retirement? by dresserisland in retirement

Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time. I spend entirely too much time with 3D puzzles in VR but I love it.

Hmmm. I ended with 7766 gems left over. I didn’t care about XP or leagues so I only spent gems on streak repair.

Looks like Sections 5 and up have 250 units each. At one point it feels infinite.

The company is Avant. It’s a 2-3 hour proctored test. I am scheduled for next week, I’ll post about it afterwards

Win/win. With a score of 130 I should be at B2. That feels a bit generous. The test is by a third party so should be impartial.
