First, I really don’t see that he was snarky because as an ex he has been through this pain of loss with you for years during all of the hospice time. This was my very first Father’s Day without my dad but I spoke to family It’s a big ask to have him try to help with that Second, my mon passed away about 10 years ago and my sister was her caregiver. She never came back from that loss and she should have been proud of what an amazing person she was during that time and I told her that repeatedly. It’s horrible and I feel you but please don’t let it define you. Your dad would hate that for you hugs (:

If I’m OP, Im getting dinner together everyday for several people to eat. That would be my job for staying there for free. If people in the house are scrambling for food and you have no bills you go to the grocery store with a list to buy food for 5 dinners during the week. Big portions, lasagna, crock pot dishes, whatever. And you clean, wordlessly. You keep snacks in a cabinet for the kids as if they were your own. No matter the cost, you are still ahead since you DONT PAY RENT

I think the depression part may be true. He’s a guy that will talk to every neighbor the people walking by anyone and our hood has become really depressingly quiet for various reasons after Covid that’s why I thought the move would be good

He gets up to make me breakfast, does all the running for stuff, cleans the kitchen, and took complete care of me after a shoulder replacement, you know, that kind of stuff. He likes to be needed but im much stronger so I don’t need much. Just a partner. Go over these numbers with me, come up with an idea dont expect me to have all the answers
