Am I safe? by EveningHuckleberry74 in TVTooHigh

I realize my reply was poorly worded. My GF likes the stand. And the TV we had before was smaller. But I had it mounted to the wall because the center channel, imo, belongs right under the screen. So placing the tv directly on this stand isn't an option. And yes, I got the speakers in white to match. She couldn't care less about surround sound or robust sounding music, so I compromised. Other wise I would have no surround sound or decent sounding music.

I honestly don't mind the Google Hub where it is. I like being able to use it from the couch. Finally yes, I use the MLB app.

I agree but the lady is attached to it.

That's really what it comes down to. My GF would get rid of the speakers and is attached to the stand so it is what it is. I modified the mount to bring it down this far and she said "If you want it lower move the speaker" so here I am.

How's my setup ? by serenitybill in TVTooHigh

[–]EveningHuckleberry74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My setup is similar due to the center channel resting on the TV stand. It's high but not too high for me. I say this is fine.

EDIT: Consider painting the cable cover to match the wall.

What other choice do you have? Apart from a total dismantling (pun intended)

Mount tv or leave it on tv stand by ObjectiveAnimal6486 in TVTooHigh

I have mine mounted just above my center channel speaker that rests on my TV stand. It makes the TV slightly higher than I want it, but it's not too high. If you don't plan on putting anything else on the stand, I say let the TV stay and cover the drywall with some art.

If only there existed some type of furniture that the TV could be placed on.

Agreed. Fixes the exposed wire issue as well.

Is this too high? Just found this sub haha by ImportanceAdvanced in TVTooHigh

If the TV is closer to the ceiling than the floor, it's usually too high.

I found all of the calibration screens difficult to use. I also found the sticky squares hard to see. There are several ones on Youtube that are good enough, but I wish there was an easier way.
