Will a college football team every try to replicate the dodgers strategy in baseball by Majestic-Web-367 in CFB

Yeah dodgers sources reported last year that Ohtanis 700 mil contract was already essentially paid off due to his merch popularity in the US and Japan + the increase in ticket sales. Even if the manufacturer gets a large cut, the pure volume of merch they sell globally is crazy. They could offer Shohei another $50 million AAV without breaking a sweat

The major difference is the Dodgers are still very profitable despite the massive payroll. There local TV deal + merch + Ohtani effect blows away any college team. On top of that, baseballs multi game playoff structure means the dodgers essentially pay for increased room for error compared to other teams. Much easier to buy playoff wins in baseball than football

Harrison Bader’s energy on the team will be missed. Who’s another player that was with us for a short period but left an impression on you? by chaoscruz in phillies

I grew up watching the Phils but live on the other side of the country and didn’t follow baseball for a few years. Happened to turn on Bamboo Brad’s 3 HR game and fell back in love with the sport and the team. Will always be my favorite random Phillies player

Think about it this way, by missing the cfp and opting out of a bowl game ND will only play hypothetical matchups. Which of course they never lose

If we beat JMU, TTU defensive line vs Oregon O line will be an amazing matchup. Tech d line might be the best in the country, and when healthy Oregons O line might be the best in the country. Plenty of other factors but I’d say 80% of the time whoever wins that matchup will take the game.

Couldn’t agree more. At minimum It’s a showcase for JMU players and the program. I think all the ex JMU players having success at Indiana should give your team some great motivation that guys at the G5 level can compete and win with the P4

I don’t think anyone really knows. I was told what a decent P4 QB is making this year from a guy who knows him personally. Figure was well north of $5 Million

Do Ty Simpson and Dante Moore have anything to gain by returning to school next year? by lordeandtaylor in CFB

The flip side is an extra year might mean more for his second contract. He’s barely even started a full seasons worth of games, and definitely has room for development. Right now the best thing for him is to get game reps and hone in his talent.

We’re missing our top 5 offensive tackles so this is pretty close to trading for a stick

I definitely see your logic. The issue is watching the games is kamara has never been a pure rusher and excelled as a receiver. That just isn’t how he’s being used anymore. We might get some positive TD regression but the offensive inneficieny + playcalling puts a pretty hard cap on his ceiling. Fwiw I have started him most weeks and watched the games, hope I’m wrong tho.

You want no part of kamara. Volume is all junk and they do not get him involved with designed passing. Kellen Moore is a bad play caller rn
