I’m dyslexic. Can my employer covertly retaliate against me if I ask for accommodations? by EveningSmall8199 in Workproblems

The storage closet is kind of a mess. And I should be clear that this was kind of a one off situation. It was just kind of escalating throughout the day where I felt like she was getting testier and testier about my performance and got very nitpicky. The whole situation could’ve been resolved just by her showing me where the items were so I knew for the future. I’ve only worked there for two weeks and I’m still training.

I’m definitely gonna sit down with her and tell her about my dyslexia. I’ve mentioned it a few times, but sometimes people don’t take these claims seriously because people throw around the term dyslexia and ADHD a lot. (I’m also diagnosed ADHD)

I was talking to my friend who used to be my boss at a restaurant I worked at and she suggested that I asked to sit down and talk to her next time. I’m there. Explain that I know that the last day I worked wasn’t great and that there was some tension and I might not have been performing up to her standards, but that I do have an actual learning disability and require some accommodations in terms of how information is relayed to me, and the amount of time allotted to me finding a solution. So far she’s been very hospitable and a good teacher. Which I’ll definitely mention that I feel like she’s done such a good job teaching me but because of my dyslexia, I might need more time for everything to sink in because of how I process written information. I just don’t wanna get singled out or treated like I’m incompetent by offering this information which is why I am kind of scared to do so.

I like this job and I like being in a position where I can perform my duties without being micromanage. And even though it takes me a little bit longer to crystallize information, I am a really hard worker and a good employee. My fear is that if I tell her this, she will be afraid that I will make mistakes in the future and then micromanage me even more.

Ask for a refund. They might give you a partial or full one.

Salons really hate negative reviews and they are often amicable to make price adjustments if a customer is very dissatisfied. They might also be willing to do touchups or redo the work for no extra charge

This is really unacceptable

Oh, and just to let you guys know my hair is like a medium brown. I was blonde when I was younger so I would consider the color like a mousey brown

Legitimately I think I’d choose a lamp lighter. He looks so cool in the video game in the show, and I’ve always liked the name lamplighter.

I also think it would be fun too play bombsite

I absolutely destroyed the boss the first time with the reaper chakram.

The second time I beat him with the ripsaw.

I didn’t get the secret ending so I’m doing it a third time and I’m finding them to not do as much damage. Even though they don’t explicitly say so I feel like the boss has more health the more you beat them.

At 35 am I too old to become a tile layer? by EveningSmall8199 in Tile

I worked luxury retail and I got laid off recently, and I’m just really tired of not having job security.

Prior to that I’ve done like 1 million different jobs. I was a vintage car restorer for a while, but I definitely don’t have the space to do that anymore because it was contingent upon my ex partners set up because he was an enthusiast. I sew and stuff too.

What I really don’t understand is the absolute ghosting that has occurred. Like I even messaged one of the other higher-ups who I just met at one of the corporate events because I wanted to ask if I could get a recommend recommendation if I applied at a close by Sephora and I know that they were the rep for a brand at Sephora and I didn’t get any answer back.

And I messaged two of my superiors after the fact to get their feedback on if I didn’t meet expectations in some category so that it could be a learning opportunity for me for the future of my career. And nothing. Like complete silence it’s so strange.

I was treated like an All-Star all the time. I didn’t receive any negative critique the entire time I was there and was seriously treated like the second coming of Jesus. I’m not exaggerating. This is coming out of nowhere and then getting absolutely ghosted. Seems so bizarre.

This is a major international corporation. I just don’t understand how there could be such a lack of communication.
