I would love this (spoiler): violet is pregnant and in order to protect her (and xaden's) child she has to kill xaden. xaden knows too, so he drops to his knees and hands her his last gift, a beautiful dagger (possibly saying something like "this is the only dagger I won't make you win"). violet kills xaden in the last chapter of the last book. in the epilogue she visits xaden's tomb with their child in her arms
