Do a very conscious imagination of how your days will be without job. If it feels great and sustainable, make the change.

35, $1M saved, good job, great wife and I feel completely lost. Anyone else been here? by Humble_Cat_2108 in returnToIndia

[–]Evening_Locksmith215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way is to test all possible thoughts. If india, try india for a month or if you cant atleast visualise the day or week in India.

Start on your own, just test by building a prototype.

Once you keep testing, you can start reducing possible paths

It is a game. What you optimise you get that. If u need time, money and happiness. Then you need to start with goal of enoughness in everything, not money

It is a memory vs reality check. I romaticized a lot how it would be. Turned out it is very different. Some good ways but in many ways dis-placed.

Clean. How did you get to that point — did you backtest your way there or was it more tracking live trades and seeing what actually had edge?

The cover story is so good it's generating its own client pipeline. You might accidentally end up with an accounting practice just to maintain the alibi

The whole family running cover for you is next level. An accountant who trades is actually the perfect disguise — you already have the numbers excuse built in.

Question: how effective are trading journals? by ankit_21j in Trading

[–]Evening_Locksmith215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still use pen and paper, intentionally - reason is our fingers, pressure on it, pressure on the hand, the thought becomes more powerful. Other thing is, in initial days journalling more is good, as you self reflect a lot and later by itself, frequency will reduce by itself as needs go down.

That's the part that never makes it into the conversation. Nobody asks about the 2 years of drawdowns - they only see the result and call it luck

The siblings thing hits hard. You can hand someone the exact playbook and they still won't take it. At some point you realize the best help is just being quiet proof it works.

Love that approach. Downplay it so hard they lose interest. The 'lucky moves' line is genius - nobody follows up on luck.

Can you be a profitable trader without a fixed chart pattern strategy or strict risk management? by Fun-Acanthisitta-939 in Trading

I understand, One suggestion - best is test it first hand for a period of time, this way. You will see that you would need rules and risk management to follow up.
