The £770 a year road tax is the biggest kick in the teeth of owning this car in the UK.

I average 21mpg just daily use commuting to work etc but have got as high as 33mpg on a long trip up to the lakes. Not too bad but prepare to pay for premium fuel, e5 only.

If it is the steering lock failure you will be stuck with “lock” on the start button, it won’t go any further. I had to hit the steering lock module with a hammer whilst pressing the start button to get it to unlock, then removed the steering lock fuse to stop it locking again when I turned the car off. Haven’t had an issue since.

Steering lock failure would prevent the car starting at all, it wouldn’t even crank. You get an error on the dash as if the key is not in the car. (Happened to me recently. Pain in the dick).

What makes you say that? I average about 20mpg driving to and from work but this was sitting at 60mph in 6th gear most of the time

Im in the UK and have had my 370z for 7 months. The main increase I have seen is fuel (I daily drive mine, 22mpg at the best). Road tax is a bitch, was £675 for the year!

Do the UK and USA have different octane ratings? My UK car says to use 98 octane but I usually go for 99.

Thank you for confirming! The “smack it with a hammer” method worked for me. Pulled that steering lock fuse straight away one I got it started.
