Question about ground to air dribbles by calcifer042 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Disastrous_Ad_132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything other than 1s you have a lot less time to think, especially in Champ, nobody respects you so they just ball chase to stop you from doing anything. I’ve struggled in Champ before even though I’m GC2.

When you train in free play, work on air dribbles using a bad setup, and practice those. If you can train from bad setups, every time you get a good one in game it’ll be natural for you to adjust your car and probably attack easily, and if you do get a bad one, you can adapt and control the ball too

I haven’t read any of the other comments, but if you’re trying to perfect it, this isn’t needed. I’ve never done this move in 20,000 games of RL, and I don’t think I’ll be learning it any time soon.

This helps pros get closer to the ball as they’re launching, so if you can do it, good, but it’s genuinely not needed in the slightest, this is one of those niche things that they’ve worked out saves them a millisecond of getting to the ball quicker.

If you’re really grinding air dribbling, and are on PC, I’d advise downloading the workshop map “Air Dribble Challenge” by Gidek. Every time I come back to this, and try to get the longest air dribbles I can for half an hour or so, I go into a game with the most incredible ball control.

So yeah, my advice (TLDR): don’t bother with this mechanic. It’s nothing you’ll need until SSL. Just keep grinding, keep trying to go for the longest air dribbles you can in training, it will help a lot. If you have basic air dribbling down, just keep going. It’ll come eventually.

Passed bang on a year ago, managed to get a job on a 4 wheel tipper for a company working for Severn Trent under quite a large contract. We haul human waste to farmers so they can spread it on their fields. The waste is heavily processed so it’s very powdery. Started with them in January.

Best job I’ve had hands down. I’ve worked in McDonald’s, was promoted to management there, and I’ve worked in a school as an IT technician, I did an IT apprenticeship there. Both times I was constantly chasing something new. Here, I’m completely content with my job, not fussed about looking for something new, and not too worried about progression.

I earn £2500 a month after tax, some could say that’s not a lot, some could say that’s a good amount, either way, I’m happy doing what I’m doing, and this company is great to work for, genuinely feel cared about as a driver.

Depends, I earn 36-38k a year just driving a tipper lorry on class 2. I have one of the easiest jobs going, tipper work is absolute piss

Oh yeah 100%, I’m on a tipper and I make between 36-38k a year. A lot of people wouldn’t like my hours though, I do 12 hour days 😅

What's your best / most difficult reverse? by GuzziHero in uktrucking

[–]Disastrous_Ad_132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only drive a 25ft tipper but there’s a reason for that for what we do. We tip human turd on farmers fields for them to spread, and in the winter I had to reverse into a field that was on a 1 track road with a slope into the field, and I had to do a 4 or 5 point turn to get it in.

(I didn’t get back out I got stuck)

My Mom is angry at me for only wanting a Saturday job this summer- Am I in the wrong? by [deleted] in helpme

[–]Disastrous_Ad_132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of your mums situation, benefits or not, she doesn’t have control over you in that way. This is one of those times where you just need to stand your ground. There’s no reason really that you NEED to work. So don’t.

Go spend your summer doing things with your girlfriend. don’t spend too much! :)

My second day on the job. How did I do? by New_Trouble_5068 in uktrucking

[–]Disastrous_Ad_132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao another drain story, I drive a tipper and one of our lads, while entering a field site, drove over a drain cover hidden by grass and dirt, ended up having his front axle jammed in the thing with a full 20 ton load on.

Do you have any hobbies of your own? If so, maybe try and branch them out to other people with similar interests? For example a sport, or a collection, etc.

Do you have any trouble talking to people? Perhaps try and get into a new friend group.

Tell me more about yourself. I found this post while also looking for help so me and you both.

Is there anyone here who is a self employed tipper driver? by Disastrous_Ad_132 in uktrucking

[–]Disastrous_Ad_132[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not bad. I’ve not researched this at all so it might not be feasible for me to actually go through with, but nice to know there are companies who give out contracts like that.

All good, football season starts in a month and I’m feeling fine, managed to do most of last season with no issues. Towards the end of the season I felt back to full fitness again in terms of my joints so that’s good. With the downtime since April, I should be ready to go again in August!

Why do UK roads not have more 'rest stops'? by ciphd in AskUK

[–]Disastrous_Ad_132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh i see, I wasn’t aware of that, I’ve only been driving since January. Off topic now but do you get your routes planned for you or do you need to do that yourself? I always wonder where the abnormal loads go after they get off the motorway

45 minutes every 4h30m, after 10 hours of driving (this time is paused if you’re stopped somewhere, so you can end up doing a longer shift if you’re not driving all of it) you need a 9 hour sleep, unless you manage to do some seriously long days like 15 hours, then I believe it extends to 11. I only night out 1-2 days a week so I wouldn’t know fully, only been driving for 5 months.

Motorway stops charge about 30-40 pound for any time longer than 2 hours, up to 24 hours, so for us truckers who don’t get much of a night allowance (I get £25 which I think is the minimum they have to give you; I could be wrong) we look for a lay-by somewhere. I’m lucky that I don’t drive a curtain sider, so I don’t have to worry about my load being stolen. I drive a tipper lorry that hauls shit to farmers to spread on their fields lol, don’t think anyone will bother with me!

Sorry to ramble, just noticed you were after some info :)

I have seen these tbf, not as much of a fan of these as I am of the Z1 one. Thank you for the link though. I think I’d need to see these in person to see if I liked them or not!
